Here is my solution to fixing the Raider issues.
First I would give Allen one more chance in hiring the right staff, and to see some improvement.
I would allow Taver to run his 3-4 defense. I also would elect to get a new offensive and special teams coordinator.
I would bring back McClain, Palmer, and Mcfadden, and they would have make or break years.
2013 FA’s
Philip Adams(RFA) (minimum)
Khalif Barnes(UFA)
Ron Bartell(UFA) (minimum)
Desmond Bryant(UFA) (new deal)
Duke Calhoun(ERFA)
Cooper Carlisle(UFA)
Andre Carter(UFA) (minimum)
Coye Francies(RFA)
Omar Gaither(UFA) (minimum)
Matt Giordano(UFA)
Mike Goodson(UFA) (minimum)
Derek Hagan(UFA) (minimum)
Joselio Hanson(UFA) (minimum)
Zach Hurd(ERFA) (minimum)
Shane Lechler(UFA)
Matt Leinart(UFA) (minimum)
Mike Mitchell(UFA)
Brandon Myers(UFA) (new deal)
Alex Parsons(RFA)
Brandian Ross(ERFA)
Owen Schmitt(UFA) (minimum)
Matt Shaughnessy(UFA) (new deal)
Willie Smith(UFA)
Shawntae Spencer(UFA)
Philip Wheeler(UFA) (new deal)
Cuts
Tommy Kelly- Cut
Richard Seymour- Cut
Dave Tollefson- Cut
Brisel Cut
Rework
Carson Palmers deal
Loses a 5th for Aaron Curry, and 2nd for Palmer
1st – MLB Manti Teo- Our new leader on defense for the next 10 years
3rd - NT Jesse Williams or McCullers
4th – FS Phillip Thomas
5th- (Michael Bush)- CB Sanders Cummings
6th – CB Leon Mcfadden
6th- (Samson Sateele)- C jonathan Harrison
7th – FS Ray Ray Armstrong
7th- (Louis Murphy)- Washaun Ealey, RB, Jacksonville State. 5-11 – 215lbs
was a beast at Georgia until he got into trouble and transferred. Has a good nose for the endzone and imo is a late round steal. Minus the trouble imo he’d be a first round pick.
Sign as Free agents

This is why I don't want a MLB in the first. We still have no pass-rush and great corners. A MLB isn't going to win us many games. _________________

'Borrowed' parts or not, I'm impressed that surfer gave it a shot without just bashing everything. So good job on that.
Which OC/ST coaches would you go after?
I'd like a better OL and if we go power then cutting Briesel makes sense but Smith is a major underachiever from the times I've seen him.
IMO Seymour and probably Kelly are gone. However I think that money would be put to use adding depth and some starters. If we go 3-4 I'm not sold on Shaggy or Wheeler being brought back with new deals.
Overall good job as I've seen worse mocks over the years. |

sorry ncoughman. .I forgot to cite my source
I would like to add an elite edge rusher but I don't think we can land all our needs in one off season...
Te'o would be the new face of the franchise. He is a true leader in a team that needs leaders .. Looks at our team
Mcfaddene- passive
DHB- passive
Moore- passive
Palmer- passive
Seymour- is a leader but he always makes dumb plays
mcclain- not a leader
Te'o would be our leader on defense. I think Wheeler would be ok in the 3-4. I would bring him back in a short term deal. Shaugnessy is a bull and strong. I think he could add 10 pounds and fit in the 3-4. He's great holding the edge
It comes down to
do we want an elite edge prospect or an elite leader of men on defense. I'm sold on Manti.
Also
Francis- is a true NT from a great 9er defense
I hope we go back to power scheme and line Wiz back with Valdheer. Draft or nab a C thru free agency and pick up a veteran RT. Hopefully Bergstorm breaks thru. I feel there is talent on our offense we just have a horrible scheme.
Hoepfully McClain would be reborn in his 3-4 he played in college and behind a true NT. Perhaps we could bltiz him more with Manti on the team.
Don't forget the bodies I suggest we add to our secondary. It will provide depth and we won't be signing guys off the streets. I believe you don't need all world corners, you just need to apply pressure to throw off timing of abs |
