Where: O.co Coliseum, Oakland, CA
When: Sunday, November 18, 2012 @ 4:05 p.m. EST (1:05 p.m. PST)
Weather: High 60, Low 48. Few Showers, Chance of rain 30%, Wind SW at 7mph
Key Match-ups
Carson Palmer vs. Saints secondary
and
Raiders secondary vs. Drew Brees
Let's face it, this game is going to feature maybe 50 total rushing yards (that is, unless the Raiders play like they did against MIA and TB). The keys for both teams is to stop the passing attack, so which defense will suck less basically. With our inability to stop the pass and run the ball effectively we will, once again, be forced to air it out almost every play. I don't have complete faith in our abilities to stop Brees at all, but what our defense will have to do is force at least a couple turnovers and give Palmer and our offense a chance to put some points on the board, and at least keep up with the Saints. Once again, Palmer will be asked to carry a heavy Burden for the Raiders like he has all season.

Can we get our run game going against a poor Saints defense? possibly, but lately their defense has been playing much better, and I believe they come in with the same game plan they had against the Eagles poor offensive line, they're really going to come hard after Palmer, so I can see screens and draw plays really being effective against them.
I think this is an important game for our staff. Not necessarily to win, but to at least be competitive. I want to see the team come out and play pissed off with something to prove after last weeks debacle, and I want to see if the coaches can get some of our glaring weaknesses maybe not completely corrected, but headed in the right direction and not getting even worse.
Two Players to watch:
Mike Mitchell: Will be starting in place of injured SS Tyvon Branch. This is his opportunity to shine, he will be facing one of the leagues premiere TE's so it will be interesting to see how he holds up
Jeremy Stewart: With Taiwan clearly in the dog house, Stewart got 7 carries last week and I can see him getting some more this week with Reece being a big part of the passing attack. The undrafted rookie from Stanford was recently activated from the PS and is apparently a ZBS runner, so we will see if he can find any success.

Now, I have faith our defense will get some things corrected, but this is Drew Brees we're talking about so our offense really has ball out.

offense only averages 10 points in the first half.
we need to start fast for once and not wait till the game is out of reach to score
