Speaking of being discofumbubobulated, who remembers this all-American classic? Wink

AP to Dickerson: "Enjoy your last year, because the record is going down."

2106 would put him 14 yards shy of 10,000 for his career.

Adrian Peterson: "Having that experience last year, now I get to go into this offseason with the same mindset: To become better than I was before. I'll be reaching out to a lot of guys this offseason and try to get those guys to come up to Houston or Arizona, wherever I have to go to get a group together to work out. We can start doing this thing together."

Jared Allen: "What Adrian did this year was inspiring. Not even just on the football level, just on the level of commitment. I think he's just a true example of never letting someone put limitations on you."

I'm a little skeptical, a lot of backs have a down year after getting 2000. Although, 28 years old seems to be a good year for most of the great backs.

Yes, and most players also get better in Year 2 following ACL surgery

We just need our OL to get better in Year 2 following ACL surgery.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson just turned in a season with the second-most rushing yards in NFL history, but he’s setting his sights a little higher for 2013. About 400 yards higher, to be exact. During an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show, Peterson said that he’s set a goal for 2013 that would represent two pretty good seasons for most running backs.

Peterson: “I set the mark for 2,500. If you reach for the stars and fall short, you’re still there.”

I would be thrilled just for him to reach 2,000 again. Don't think that's ever been done before.

Not sure with a healthy Harvin and some new weapons if there will be enough yards to go around for him.

The Vikings announced on Thursday afternoon that Adrian Peterson had successful surgery for a sports hernia, and that there is no reason to be concerned that the injury will be an issue going forward.

“Adrian Peterson had a surgical procedure done today by Dr. William Meyers, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,” the team said in a statement. “Dr. Meyers was able to successfully repair Adrian’s abdominal core muscle injury (sports hernia). We expect a speedy recovery with no long-term concerns.”

when ya think about it... the hernia is what cost him breaking the 2105 rushing mark. because it flared up in the Houston game and he was pulled from the 4th quarter, surely he would have gained 9 more yards.

He may have been pulled because of the injury, or he could have been pulled because he already had 25 carries and we were up a couple scores. I'm guessing the latter.

Peterson said he suffered the sports hernia injury some time during the Vikings' 34-24 home victory over the Lions on Nov. 11.

Peterson: "I just remember getting twisted up pretty bad in an awkward position. That next day I felt very uncomfortable in my groin and abdominal area. I thought to myself, 'I'll just wait until I recover,' but I never did. I wasn't able to lift weights because of the strain that it would put on those muscles on an upper- or lower-body workout. It was just about doing what I had to do to push myself every week. My body was sore from the game and the sports hernia every Monday, so I did what I had to do to recover and get my body right."

"I just played through the pain. I ran on adrenaline."
