one more good run during the year... a few less stops behind the line of scrimmage...
oh well, we WON and that's what's on the mind of every MINN player. think of the celebrating and back slapping going on with that team tonight! |

8,849 + 2,106 = 10,995 |
And he would still be about 7500 yards from Emmitt. _________________

Don't worry about it, VD. They changed the length of a yard from two feet to three a couple of millennia back. You were probably too busy fighting off pterodactyls to notice. It happens. _________________

Here's the list of 2,000 yard rushing seasons:
1. 2,105 Eric Dickerson
2. 2,097 Adrian Peterson
3. 2,066 Jamal Lewis
4. 2,053 Barry Sanders
5. 2,008 Terrell Davis
6. 2,006 Chris Johnson
7. 2,003 O.J. Simpson |
Let's not forget O.J. did it in during the 14 game season era. |
A very valid point. If I remember the number right, Simpson's 143.1 yards/game are still a record. If AP were to average 144 ypg over 16 games, he'd finish with 2,304 yards. _________________

After watching Peterson close out the year, I don't think that's out of the question... _________________

| If I did my math right, Peterson had 1600 yards over the last 10 games or 160 yards per game. |

I didn't check, but that sounds about right. He was absolutely on fire. _________________

It is true that OJ rushed for 2000 yards in 14 games but I believe that to be a flawed way to look at it. Despite playing two less games OJ only had 16 fewer carries in his 2000 yard season when compared to Adrian's. If you give OJ the extra carries at his 6.0 ypc mark he ends up with two more yards than Adrian, and he wasn't coming off a blown out knee.
Adrian's season > OJ's Season _________________

And the Bills didn't make the playoffs in 1973 (of course, there was only 1 WC then). _________________
