Nah. Lock him up in Flushing.

Don't you have to worry about your owners being bankrupt or something?

Yeah. Mad

So uh... what's the purpose of the Marlins now? Have one player on their roster?

The purpose of the Marlins is to be the universal farm system for the MLB.

The Jays still need their starters to show they can do it every year. Buehrle's the only one I trust really.
Have you seen Buehrle's career numbers against the AL East? How can you trust him?
His numbers against the AL East since '09 aren't good, but he still doesn't walk people and his career ERA is less than a run lower than his AL East ERA since '09. It's not like he has a 5.5-6 ERA in 100+ innings. It's 4.67. Bad, not terrible.

Plus, the Orioles and Rays are still lower-half AL offenses and the Red Sox are on their way down and the Yankees, given A-Rod/Jeter/Ichiro depreciation and potentially losing Swisher, should be heading in that direction also. The best or second best offense in the East next year could be Buehrle's own.

The Marlins are just an abysmal and embarrassing franchise. I'm offended that that organization has two world series titles. They are just clueless.

Meanwhile the Rangers still have none Sad

Them and the Tribe both. The Marlins organization is offensive.

Major League Baseball is offensive.

Back in the 80's they allowed teams like the Braves and Yankees to sign exclusive network TV contracts under the guise of "cable" and they ended up with teams with revenues 8-10 times greater than some of the lower-revenue teams like the Expos and Marlins.

Internet TV will eventually throw a monkey wrench into all the cable TV deals, but I don't believe for a second that MLB will be at all smart about the coming changes to the way that fans view games.

Sad

Sorry I'm late to the party.

Great trade for the Blue Jays - if anyone doubted that Anthopoulos could continue to work magic, I hope they've second guessed themselves. Disappointed that the Jays had to give up Marisnick, but considering the return...

I believe the hold up is physicals. Reyes was in Dubai when he got the news, Mathis was on a hunting trip.

You could make room if you wanted to, but I guess this answers my question about Rasmus' long-term future as a Blue Jay. Wasn't sure they would keep him, but I guess I have my answer. I suppose this also means that they highly value the speed that Gose brings.

Not official as far as I know, but I cannot see why it wouldn't be.
