Catfish type of crap
This is just difficult to process |
Not really. It's a poorly executed sympathy scam to garner attention. It's sociopathic behavior. It's the most disgusting lie perpetrated in American sports.
The whole family was in on it, and it makes me want to puke. Can't imagine how I would feel if I had actually liked him prior to this. |

This is more of what I'm buying into. The guy is a nationally heralded linebacker. To say he's never met the woman he was dating is pure garbage. I can't imagine justifying a first round selection on a guy like this. _________________

The ONLY possible out he has is if he lied about meeting her because he was embarrassed to admit to people he had feelings for a woman he never met. His statement still really doesn't make sense.
IF it truly happened as he said it did, then he played up the story. Plain and simple. To go and say you lost the love of your life on TV, then say you never truly met the person and met online is a load of crap. _________________

There is another "out", so to speak, but that discussion must remain "in the closet" so that we don't get this thread locked. |

I've read about that too Ditch.

I hadn't read about that but that also crossed my mind.
I carried on an online friendship with my current wife for about 5 years without ever meeting her. We talked on the phone and in a baseball chat room on WebTV. I had sent her pictures but she is the paranoid type and didn't even tell me her last name, send a picture or tell me the city she lived in for a few years. So I could see how it could start like he says, but to say it's the love of your life and all that seems a bit exaggerated. (This is actually a true story, not meant to be funny)
I really hate posting off topic stuff in the off topic thread, seems like I'm doing the moderators a favor. |

I think you made a wise decision.
Gerard wasn't a bad player and it's not like if had we drafted the best player on the planet instead of him that we'd had won a superbowl or anything. He was a consensus top 5 pick, just didn't turn out how we wanted.
We've had some decent players go through this organization, but I still think the 53 (54) man roster we had last year was our best unit. I know we've had better records but we had less holes last year than in any other year since '99 IMAO. (A stands for arrogant) |
