I'm the hero FF needs, not the one it wants.

You may heretofore refer to me as Batman.

after tomorrow, I have 2 weeks at my new Chesapeake job.

What a great business to work for. I've never had the kind of training and benefits that they offer from anyone else. Very strict on safety and federal guidelines as well when it comes to fracing, going above and beyond whats required.

I'm an equipment operator. I run the hydraulic fracturing equipment. 3 crews rotate as well as one night and one day crew, rotating days and nights.

interesting work. fracturing is something people hear a lot about in the news, but most dont know anything about it. Im sure it was a big change from the post office! Smile

the amount of legitimate research (unbiased from either side) on hydraulic fracturing is limited.

i'd say that no one knows anything about it.

The differing opinions from either side on the effects (both short and long term) of fracturing certainly make it an interesting topic of conversation... assuming the conversation can avoid politics. haha

Your very right. The news makes the business look like a natural disaster. Truth is, the people reporting about it know nothing about it. After being in the job for a few weeks, its amazing how much people don't know about it, yet make crazy acquisitions.

They've been doing it for long enough to know something about it. And I think these kind of statements that take a vague topic (in your case, the operation as a whole) and make a specific statement ("no one knows anything about it") is the kind of misleading comments that make people think its a terrible process.

and these companies have been doing fracing for long enough to know if there would be any long term doubts as well. They have been doing the horizontal drilling for about 15 years now as well.
