Aldon Smith is a STUD pass rusher, but that's really all he does at an All-Pro level.Watt has 11 sacks, 11 stuffs, and 10 pass deflection. Tillman has been a dominate CB with 7 FF's, and 2 TD's. Von Miller has 13 sacks, 4 FF's and leads the league in tackles for loss.
Aldon has 2 stuffs all season. So like I said, he has to do more than get sacks to beat those 3 guys. He has been very, very impressive as pass-rusher though.

Add in the fact that Smith has gotten 5 of his sacks against the Bears porous OL and he has no case against the likes of Watt, Miller, Tillman. Aldon is a great pass rusher, however that is all he is at this point in his career.

He's good at run defense...better than Von or JJ, or elite at it? No. But he's pretty good as a run defender, whether its the tackle, or setting the edge.
Just trying to clear up any misconceptions from fans. He's more than a pass rusher, although thats clearly his biggest strength. His biggest struggle as a Linebacker is his coverage skills.

Like Von didn't just get 3 sacks off of Clary and the Chargers O-Line?
My vote right now would go to Miller, but that's a weak argument to dismiss Aldon...

I still think it's between Miller and Watt because of their season long consistency and what they mean to they're teams. Take both of them off their respective defenses and they're nowhere near as stout as the 49ers sans Smith.

I could honestly care less if Von hoists the Lombardi in February like others have said. But if not, it would be a nice consellation prize.
