i don't think that anyone is suggesting that he isn't something special. To answer your question, no. But they are also very different players than Watt. _________________

No football player ever has had a season like Watt. Best defensive end ever... fo sho. |
Ehhh, let's not go throwing around ever so lightly. Reggie White I think still deserves that title as well as quite a few guys above Watt at the moment. _________________

I was just trying to highlight the fact that whilst they have had similarly dominant seasons, they have never put up these kind of numbers. And to get DPOY recognition you need the stats. _________________

Meh, it's week 11. DPOY when you're doing it this early is a very fluid situation. One guy gets hot, like Von Miller has recently, then he'll get the DPOY buzz. It's a "what have you done for me lately" kind of thing until the end of the season.
Watt was the clear DPOY and still is #1 IMO, but Von Miller has closed the gap considerably... _________________

However I still have Watt #1 just slightly ahead of Peanut. |
And Jennings has never done what Revis always does. _________________

Revis not only had the picks but he was also shutting down teams #1 receivers and if im not mistaken Tillman is put on the #1 receiver. Not taking anything away from Jennings still having a great season, but revis' 2009 season was considered one of the best seasons by a CB in history. _________________

I generally agree with this but there have been seasons in the past in which a player got some early season hype and carried it to the DPOY award by season's end. So it can happen. |
