Round 1 - Robert Woods - WR - USC - As much as I would like to put Keenan Allen here, I think he will be a big time riser in the offseason during work outs. Woods is an excellent WR with great speed and is tough as nails, willing to take the big hit, he is a dangerous threat with the ball in his hands.

Round 2a - Oday Aboushi - LT - Virginia - Aboushi is a better scheme fit for the Dolphins and my gut says a team like Arizona will pay way too much for Long if he hits the open market. Even if Long gets tagged or signs, Aboushi could possibly slide into LG or RG.

Round 2b - Marcus Davis - WR - Virginia Tech - Davis is a tall WR who has great speed, he has had a little problem with some drops but at this slot he adds major upside. He gives Tannehill another weapon and a big target.

Round 3a - Terry Hawthorne - CB - Illinois - Hawthorne is a versitile athlete with decent cover skills. After trading Vontae Davis, some depth at CB would be welcome.

Round 3b - Bacarri Rambo - S - Georgia - Rambo is a great talent but has had some off the field issues. Jones has been excellent for the Dolphins this year and adding Rambo would make them one of the best safety combo's in the NFL.

Round 4 - Brandon Jenkins - DE - Florida State - Jenkins suffered a foot injury at the beginning of the year, he was regarded as a possible 1st round pick before that. Jenkins would probably be a pass rush specialist right away, but you can never have enough good pass rushers.

Round 5 - Knile Davis - RB - Arkansas - Davis is the perfect back for the ZBS, he has a long injury history, but splitting carries with Bush and Miller they could become the best running game in the NFL. Which can only help Tannehill and the play action passing game. If Davis hits he is an amazing value at this spot.

Round 6 - Eric Gordon - CB - Tennessee - Only 5'9, but is very quick and can pick so passes off but being so short would probably make him a slot corner only. Possible punt/kick returner as well.

Round 7 - Jeff Tuel - QB - Washington State - Tuel is a larger, athletic QB with some OK tools. Let Philbin/Sherman develop him and maybe flip him for a pick in a couple years.

Not bad, we probably won't pick two WR that high, 1 in the first 3 picks is likely. Maybe replace one of the WR with a DE or a CB.

HOW DO WE KNOW pHILBIN'S WAY IN THE DRAFT. hAS HE EVER RUN A DRAFT, OR MADE ANY DRAFT DECISIONS WHATSOEVER? tHE REAL QUESTION IS WHETHER IT'S iRELAND'S WAY. aND IF YOU ARE GOING ON gREEN bAY'S RECORD, THEY BUILT MUCH OF THAT o-LINE WITH MID ROUND GUYS. hE ALSO DID PICK A RECEIVER IN THE SECOND ROUND, AND i BELIEVE IT WAS NEAR THE TOP OF THE SECOND.

I love the draft. With the 10 or so guys @ WR in this draft I would love to see us bring in multiple players. We need help at that position badly and have the picks in my mind to draft a couple guys relatively early.

The CB(s) I like as well. It's a position we're curious about right now. We have more pressing issues in pass rush I think but we want to continue to bring in CBs. I would look for 1 solid guy myself as opposed to bringing in 2. With Nolan Carroll and Jimmy Wilson playing decently well, I doubt we have room for 2 more CBs. Remember, Sean Smith and Richard Marshall were our starting CBs week-1.

The S I am all for bringing in if he has coverage ability. If he's another hard-hitting SS then Jones is already that guy for us. Clemons has played about average for us. Nothing to write home about. He got a pick on one of Sanchez' horrible throws up the seem but beyond that he's just making the necessary tackles. I thought he would be better in coverage based on what I saw 2 years ago. He had a great game in Oakland against another Clemson guy, Jacoby Ford, who at the time was healthy and playing well.


The only question mark I would have there is OG. We have 2 solid OTs and a very good C. Neither Guard really fits the mold of what we want however. I think the majority of posters here would be okay with franchising Jake Long if we don't resign him and thus we'd like to improve our Guard situation ASAP. Those guys are killing us on screens and run-blocking. Whether it's them, the scheme or a little of both, Incognito and Jerry just aren't very effective.

Don't mind the draft but, don't love some of the picks. I'll stick with pick in the 1st round b/c he may very well be BPA when we pick but I would also consider Barrett Jones, Jonathan Banks, and maybe a trade back and a pick-up like Jonathan Cooper.

2a- too high for Oday Aboushi. Mostly considered a mid-3rd round pick.

2b- Marcus Davis is nothing short of inconsistent. I would rather see a guy like Cordelle Patterson, Steadman Bailey, DeAndre Hopkins.

3a- Terry Hawthrone- solid all around prospect, have a bit of a man crush on Dez Trufant if he falls.

3b- Rambo another solid pick. Not sure he fits the Philbin mold though with the off-the-field-issues. I could see Ireland going after a Jarius Byrd in the offseason anyways filling this void. I would consider: Joe Fauria TE, Gerald Hodges LB, Omerigee Uzzi OG.

The rest of the draft is fine with me, although Tuel has not impressed me and with the surprise of Devlin we already have a project QB. Maybe bolster ST pick here bringing in competition for Dan Carpenter.
