How much longer do they keep him? Do they start to head in a different direction? You can't put the blame on Turner IMO, because he has put up some great seasons with Turner as HC, but this is now the second straight year in which his play has dropped off significantly. That INT in the Tampa game was one of the worst throws/decisions I have ever seen a QB make.
Do the Chargers continue with Norv, do they keep Rivers? Do they keep one? Get rid of both?

I think they draft a QB in second round. |

Unfortunately for the Chargers, Al Davis isn't alive to give them a first round pick for him.
They should do a house cleaning. Smith, Turner, Rivers, Pass catchers, Oline, DBs (-weddle), LBers (-Butler). Their DL is the only group that's young enough to take into the next regime. |

Rivers isn't going anywhere. Yes, he's made some mistakes, but it happens when you're in the situation that he's regularly in. They have nothing at OL, so he's always under pressure. He doesn't have anywhere to step up, so he's not getting everything into his throws, and that's a big problem for a guy without a big arm. The secondary keeps giving up big plays, so the lead is gone by the 4th. You can't expect a guy to come back every game.
Unless the find a way into the playoffs, which would be a miracle, Norv is gone. AJ Smith should be gone too. There will be a lot of turnover if that happens, and the guys that do nothing but collect a check will be gone. Rivers will not be one of them. _________________

Al Davis wasn't alive to trade a first round pick for any QB.... _________________ R A I D E R S | 7 6 E R S |

Put in UDFA Mike Harris - Doesn't go well
Put in Gaither - Goes pretty well.
Still has amazing ability, as can be seen from his spectacular first half. Main problem is he's not mobile and we haven't built a very good Oline. Norv also makes him roll out on those stupid plays like the pick he threw against KC and last week. He can't move already, so make him throw while he's moving?
I'd be beyond mad if they got rid of Rivers. _________________

I don't think so. I still believe he is a top QB. But he has no mobility so you can't get away with sub par protection like you can with some other QBs. _________________

Rivers runs like a 10.5 40, Al woulden't even think about trading for him |

Yeah, Al had linemen faster than Rivers. _________________

Isn't it hilarious that Al Davis took a super immobile QB over the greatest HWS WR prospect ever with the #1 pick? _________________

When's the last time the Raiders had a mobile quarterback? Davis loved speed, but he wasn't big on mobile quarterbacks. _________________ Kickers are people too |
