Many of you have heard the rumor that Mike Holmgren would be interested in the Dallas Cowboys job if it became available.
Came across this article on NFL.com and found it interesting that they (at least the author) believe that his agent, Bob Lamonte is the source of the rumor.
More interesting is the line about his agent and Holmgren trying to play the Browns as fools. Many of us had issues with hiring all Bob Lamonte clients in the first place and we're using playcalling as (legitimate) rationale to run Shurmur out of office, but I think in reality we feel like we've been had by the Walrus hiring his friend's nephew.
Below is the straight forward coverage from MKC of the Plain Dealer. Holmgren never denies interest in the Cowboys job, btw. Makes you wonder what his plan really was.....

Well considering Holmgren's success on the sideline, I don't know why it's that funny.
I mean he's no Wade Phillips.

I just don't think that Holmgren is that bad of a coaching candidate.
Believe me, we could never take shots at opposing teams coaches. Ever
