Golly, with the NFL in GB's pocket... Also keep in mind the NFL had to take down their front page on their website after the 2009 NFC wildcard because the pic they used clearly showed the game end in a face mast penalty...
So that someone thinks rookies are going to kill a cap seems real par for the coarse... |

Here is the play that I'd say is the closest thing to the refs railroading us:
Look at where Pead goes down. We get the 1st and are trying to line up and spike the ball. The refs initially spot us the first so we get lined up to spot it then they changed their minds AFTER we lined up with the clock running and take away 3 yards and the 1st down which forces us to line-up again on the new spot for the spike.
Their indecisiveness and changing of their mind cost us at least 10 to 12 seconds if not more.
Had they stopped the clock and reviewed whether he got a 1st, that would have been acceptable but they didn't. They kept the clock running while they changed their minds.
The fact that the NFL did not apologize for this replacement refesque type crap is irritating.

Why are they even moving the spot. It looks OK to me from that gif.

Because they were idiots. I have no clue. The original spot was right. Pead got the first and was down there. For some odd reason, they decided after we were lined up and ready to spike it that they needed to move the ball back 3 to 4 yards and take the 1st down away. They never gave any sort of reasoning and never stopped the clock to review what they were unsure about.
They jipped us out of 10 to 12 seconds which ended up being a big deal considering Gibson caught a pass and went out of bounds just inside Zuerlein's range with 1 second left(and of course they let the 1 second run off the clock).

I'm not sure the Rams got railroaded but what I'm certain of is it's hilarious to hear a Skins fan complain about officiating in a game the Rams got two legit touchdowns waived off because of the officials.
If the officiating had been perfect in that game the Rams would of blown the Skins out.
Either way the Rams have gotten the short stick of some dubious calls this year. Stopping the clock early against the Lions(allowing the Lions to save a timeout for their final drive), two tds not called against the skins, SJax getting an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for spiking the ball after one of those plays(because he thought he scored) and then the awful time clock issues against the 49ers.
I'm not sure if the Rams beat the 49ers or Lions either way but those calls certainly didn't help them. |

Listen, I'm not making excuses for the Rams. That exact play is let go 99% of the time when the offense is on the field, period. The biggest mistake for the Rams was Fisher calling a TO with 1:09 left with first and goal at the 3 yard line. I can't comprehend what he was thinking. |
That's where the Rams lost the game right there. It was ridiculous for a long time veteran coach like Fisher to call a TO right there. Very poor clock management. The clock was on his side but by taking that TO it gave the Niners enough time to kick the tying FG.
