Clearly Nick Foles Is Not The Quick Fix
As I maintained since the preseason, Nick Foles would not be an upgrade over Michael Vick when it comes down to helping this team win games. You go to Foles when you give up on the season and not if you have any designs upon making the playoffs. There is no magic quick fix solution. This is a bad team. A new offensive system needs to be installed. Nick Foles was running for his life. You should never have to see a guy like that running for his life even after 3-4 solid seconds of pass protection. These smallish receivers, no hot reads, and well known predictable playbook contribute to many pass plays being entirely unproductive even with decent pass protection. Andy has to go and Nick Foles isn't the quick fix most people hoped for him to be. Sorry, I was right, as usual... |

Who argued he was a quick fix? As far as I know he's widely regarded as a potential long haul solution who could help mitigate some our short term problems whilst developing for the long term. Sure enough, he looked like a rookie but he also displayed flashes of accuracy and pocket presence that we all knew he had.
You really look dumb when you write off a rookie who just completed 68% of his passes, 6.8 YPA and 1 TD in his debut where he came in during the middle of a game against the 7th ranked pass defense with King Dunlap and Demetress Bell as his offensive tackles. _________________

Foles ran on us own account on some of those plays. _________________

That's part of the offense. I know that you do not understand that. That's okay because Reid will be fired soon and you will not have to stress your brain any longer to assimilate that concept into it. |

Foles is a work in progress, unfortunately he reminded me of Kolb running backwards and throwing off the back foot. Give him the rest of the year to see what he's got as half a game isn't enough. _________________

Yeh, you need to give Foles a few games.
He did seem to lock onto one player which was a little worrying _________________

He ran out of a good pocket, instead of stepping up. _________________

Im with Phire there is no quick fix for this team, the team needs to be scrapped down and started new. That being said, you can;t say Nick Foles is not the answer after a HALF of football. Yes he looked like a rookie and he had his moments of rookiedom but he also had some very veteran moments. I think what you or other people thought was that Foles would come in and give us a winning team and while that would be nice, thats a crack pipe dream. Foles will come in win us maybe 1 or 2 more games and we will be sitting pretty drafting 6th overall _________________

Not only is it unfair to judge Foles after a 2.5 quarters of football, but if...:
1) the right call was made on the Dez Bryant "TD" catch
and/or
2) Our punter can knock the returner out of bounds on the TD return
and/or
3) D-jax catches the pass instead of bobbling and causing an INT TD
....we would have won that game
Don't forget, with Foles we were only down by 8 (should have been 7) at the end. The three plays listed above accounted for 21 points. _________________

PE the crowd seemed to enjoy the moment Foles came in
I thought you told me the fans who pay to go to the game wouldn't want to see that? The stadium was energized. _________________

That says it all. The paying fans stick around a little longer when the starter is in the game... |

Surely, you can't be serious?
1) That was a TD. And even if it wasn't DRC got owned and committed PI, ball is on the 1 yard line.
2) Yes, expect some unathletic punter to make the tackle with a guy blocking him, that's reasonable.
3) Horrible throw. _________________

I dont think anyone should say that Foles would be a quick fix. He is a rookie who played in his first ever NFL Game. Give him a few more games before you judge his play.
IMO Foles is going to be a good QB in the league he stands tall in the pocket and has a quality NFL arm (I'm talking about all throws, not just the deep ball). Also he looks like he would be a character on The Big Bang Theory.
Look at that nerd stasche _________________
