We can't afford to lose this game with Cutler out. Not when we have to go to New Orleans on a short week after this game. That's a dome and that stadium is going to be rocking.
The good news we've always responded well after a loss under Harbaugh, and Fangio said this tie basically feels like a loss anyway. I hope we come out and make a statement, but thats much easier said than done.
Also, don't feel like starting a thread but we lost a Practice Squadder- Matt Masifilio to Tampa Bay. From our preseason roster, thats Konrad Reuland (Jets), Chris Owusu (Bucs), Mike Person (Seahawks), Nathan Palmer (Colts), and Matt Masifilio (Bucs) who are now on 53 man rosters across the NFL. Just a little more evidence on how strong our roster really is. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

Don't mind masifilo that much. But we do need depth on the line.

It's awesome that we are so full of talent that people are picking guys off of our practice squad. I wish we could have held onto NaPalm and I hope we don't lose Jerod-Eddie, Michael Thomas, or Cam Johnson. _________________ saintsfan on the sig

If he singles out a rookie and ignores Marshall, I think that's a win for the Niners _________________

Big game tomorrow. I kind of wish Cutler was playing so there will be no excuses if we win it. I'll take a win either way but I'd like the win with no excuses. _________________

On ESPN they were saying Alex still isn't cleared to play. Anyone heard otherwise? _________________

You sure you heard it correctly? I've heard all week that Smith was cleared for contact after passing the NFL's tests. _________________

He's gonna play. I think Harbs is just keeping his cards close, force the Bears to spend time gameplanning for Kaep. All reports say Alex has practiced pretty much as normal this week _________________

Glazer reported today that Alex still had to pass the league mandated impact tests and that it would be done either today or tomorrow.
Maiocco tweeted that Alex left the facility today gameplan in hand without comment. So to just assume he will play would be wrong. if he doesnt pass the impact test he wont play, but based on how he has seemed to progress this week it does appear more favorable that he will not have symptoms after they beat him silly with those pads they use in the impact tests. _________________ San Francisco 49ers 2013 Retirement Tour;

You got a concussion huh? Oh, you want to play in Monday's game? Hang on, let me go get the impact test ready. Now let me smack you in the head a bunch of times and then I'll ask you questions from earlier and see if you answer them ok. _________________

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
As @mortreport reports, Alex Smith is out tonight. He could not get clearance on his contact test. Colin Kaepernick starts. _________________
