Danny Amendola doesn't like the tie
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/11/17/amendolas-willing-to-do-anything-to-avoid-another-tie/
| Quote: | “I don’t agree with ties. It is what it is, I guess. I’m upset we tied. We should’ve won and they could’ve put it away. Either way, we could’ve had an outcome. I don’t know. Maybe they should change the rule.”
Asked for a preferred method, Amendola suggested “Play until somebody wins the game,” although that flies in the face of player safety. “I don’t care. Then have a shoot-off or something,” he said.
“It’s just not a good feeling at the end of the game when nobody wins,” he continued. “We put all this time and this effort in, put our bodies on the line for five hours. Essentially, something needs to happen so somebody wins. That’s just how I feel about it.”

As a player, no i wouldn't like the tie either. I can't see how any player would want the tie. It would feel like a loss anyway, and made worse by the fact that you're still hungry after time expires to make something happen.
However as a fan, or somebody on the outside looking in, theres no excuse for not winning a ball game in 4 quarters plus one overtime. Neither team could do enough to win, and at some point I completely understand that its time to call the tie. |

On the other hand, the Rams shot themselves in the foot too many times. Because of that, I feel that they don't deserve the win. No team wanted to win the game. _________________

Make it a PK like thing at the end of overtime. Your entire roster must attempt a 25 or 30 yard kick. Keep going until one team makes it and the other team misses.
Not serious, but hey, it would be kinda fun to watch, I guess? |

No I don't think ties should be abolished. You have an entire quarter to win the game. If you can't then you have only yourself to blame for not getting the victory. _________________

If we were to ever get rid of ties, it should be by making both teams lose. Let's see them whine then.
Yes I did just suggest making a rule out of spite. _________________

why does there need to be a winner.
If things are that close, the records should reflect that. |
Maybe instead of a "tie" each team could be awarded half a win and half a loss. |

I find ties in the NFL hilarious. Aside from that, if neither team can score the other in 15 minutes, neither team deserves to win. I don't see any point in removing them due to their rarity. And I'm sure the NFL Players Union and the Broadcasting companies would be against it. _________________ With much cheese,
