Who sucks less? The rams are up and coming and the niners are a top 5 team in the NFL. It was a division rivalry
I understand what you're getting at, but if the ravens and steelers do this they are praised for how strong the rivalry is. Period.
Either way, this game would have had a winner if the refs hadn't been screwing everyone left and right |
I knew the Rams were going to be better under Fisher and even predicted them in 3rd place, ahead of the Cards. But i thought we'd win the first matchup, and lose the 2nd matchup in STL.
TBH the tie kind of feels like a loss anyway. We didn't win, so i don't feel satisfied with the result either way. But its better than a loss for playoff purposes.
And someone clear it up for me, is the NFL the only major sports league that allows ties? I know the MLB and NBA don't, and i don't think the NHL has ties either. But then again, neither of those sports are as physical as the NFL is. _________________ -Not taking this off until the 49ers win #6 |

No it should't abolish the tie. It's extremely rare and probably won't make a difference in how San Fran or St.Louis finish at the end of the season. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

Hell no. Keep it the way it is. I always found the college football system rather gimmicky anyway but that style works for college sports. Wouldn't like it in the NFL.
And to add, I don't like the idea of breaking a tie just for the sake of making sure there's a winner and a loser instead of whatever tie there is being broken because one team proves itself better over the course of play, because a lot of suggestions I'm seeing in this topic are just that. If 75 minutes isn't enough to decide a winner, then just let it be. _________________

| No, and this game in particular shouldn't be a catalyst for abolishing a tie, neither team deserved to win. |

I think the players should vote to see if they want a tie or not. As viewers, we would want the game to go on until we see a winner, but players might be fatigue and tired and just want to end the game. _________________

Sorry but i would hate to see a football game go on like some baseball games do. Complete different sport but the same basis IMO. If neither football team can score any points in 15:00 minutes, neither deserves to win. _________________

Some players don't even know the game ends in a tie, and you want them to vote? _________________ Kickers are people too |

Field Goal H-O-R-S-E? Might be more interesting. | Better way to do this. PATs but with different players. Golden goal style.

Gonna possibly say a crazy statement and say that I don't think we should have OT outside of playoff games. Teams are too conservative as is. Play to win the game. :ducks from tomatoes: |
rochambaeu is a contest where you kick each other in the nuts until someone drops or quits. _________________

THAT'S drama. |
Players fighting it out for 60 mins only to have the game decided by a kicking contest.
I don't predict that rule going over too well in the NFL... |
The players would like it more than a 2nd overtime.... besides, anyone doubting the value of a kicker before, wouldn't anymore |

Let's just give both teams wins, and send them home with milk and cookies. _________________

Draws should be more common.
I frankly believe OT should just be a 5th quarter. If it's a tie, it's a tie.
Frankly too many times a team gets a win they did not deserve. Plenty of time to get a true victory. Ties are there when neither team deserved to win. _________________ Legends Never Die. They Breathe Through The New Generation.

I'd be down for a modified version of the college rule, where each team starts at the 50. _________________
