I agree. And why does tying them have to be so complicated anyway? |
I disagree, if only because you two agree. I love ties. _________________ GO PACK GO!

They should implement the college football format which is far more exciting. Only start at the 35 instead of the 25 to make the FG attempts more difficult. _________________

Rams should have won this game. Not only should they have won it twice in OT. The Niners should have never even gotten it to OT.
They were incredible lucky. And the Refs? Wow, they messed up a lot today. |

Go to your GDT and complain about it.
Ties suck. Abolish that nonsense. _________________

Injuries become a huge issue. Once you're drained physically, the chances of a terrible injury skyrocket. _________________

I say make a similar format of the college overtime rules. Only start at the 30 and make it so no PAT's are allowed. Teams must go for 2 after scoring.
I've never understood why the overtimes between college and the pros are so different anyway. I love college overtime. High school OT is fairly similar to college as well (for the states that have it). _________________

No. Because the Rams deserved to win with how well they played. Those fake punts should earn them an automatic W. _________________ (MLB)=A's, (NFL)=Raiders, (NBA)= Warriors

if they run out of time during OT they should ..do something different like
22 vs 22 LOL for like 6 mins
how would the QB like to face a 6-8 Defense
6 dline men and 8 linebackers LOL |

^I was just going to post this. I say keep the overtime rules as is but in case of a tie at the end of OT regulation, they should go to the college rules and put them in FG range.
A tie is pointless. No one wants to see a game end in that result. _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant

I would argue for more ties, abolish OT for regular season games. Most sports leagues (as opposed knock-outs) a draw/tie is a recognised result. I would change OT to be like extra time in soccer, just an extra ten minutes play time, it being reserved just for the play-offs it would make it that much more exciting. _________________

| Scrap it.. They have made advances in OT recently and another tweak is merited. Instead of a TD on first possession wins the game, ensure both teams get the ball at least once.. after both teams have had the ball at least once and if the game is still tied, play sudden death until someone scores. No game clock just a play clock... |

The solution's easy: just have a sudden death field goal contest where each kicker has to kick 50 yard kicks until one misses. If they both make it through a couple rounds successfully, bump the distance back.
THAT'S drama. |

Players fighting it out for 60 mins only to have the game decided by a kicking contest.
I don't predict that rule going over too well in the NFL... _________________ 44 and 21 Once a Giant, always a Giant
