The possibility of the tie makes OT way more interesting. I don't want the game dragging on when there are other marquee NFL games that day, and I don't want to stay up past midnight watching football if it's a night game.

Change OT to only 10 minutes and then give each team 4 untimed downs starting at their opponent's 20 yard line. I'd love to see it just for the media's reaction to the coach who passes on a 4th and 5 for the win to kick a FG for a tie.

1) How is not scoring for 15 minutes "fun"?
2) People are rooting for ties all the time. If the score is 14-7 with :01 left from the 1 yard line aren't you rooting for OT?

I'm down with this. Slap boxing tourny.
If you can't win a game in 60 minutes...and you can't score in the next 15 minutes you probably shouldn't have a W in your column. Football needs more time pressure anyway. Coaches lay low with marginal understanding of the clock as is. (I know you can score a FG and match it with a FG BTW, I just think that that isn't often that you see that in this format.)

If they just kept adding quarters to the game, that wouldn't work, but if they made some other sort of alternative overtime, it would be nice to always have a team win and lose.
