k, I like Hunter, but this cannot be denied. Patterson is legitimately the most athletic receiver I have seen since I've followed college football (2006 - present).
The top speed, the short area quickness, the stop and go, burst/acceleration, lateral agility, it's incredible. Really, for 6'4, his ability is absolutely incredible. Moss esque athletcism. Just staggering agility, stop and good, and top speed. He is behind justin Hunter in terms of targets, but this guy is pure electricity. He is going to utterly dominate at the next level, wherever he goes.

DK if he is eligible this year, but he should be a top 5 pick. _________________

Everything is true there except he is 6'3" on a good day probably will measure about 6'2 and 3/4 or so.
Athletic is an understatement _________________

While you are definitely overrating him (top 5 pick?), I was sold on this guy as an athlete when I saw him take that reverse to the house against NC State. _________________ Not removing until:

I'm not sold on him. His speed is suspect because I haven't seen him outrun any known fast NFL prospects. Teams are also under prepared for him because you generally don't gameplan for underclassmen or JC transfers. I expect for his speed at the combine to prove underwhelming similar to returnmen/receivers like Peter Warrick, Joe Adams, and Jeremy Maclin. Patterson's best highlights feature his openfield running ability against college athletes. They don't show him torching and blowing by known fast NFL prospect defensive backs for receptions. We have to take the knowledge of the past and apply it to guys like this to avoid bust situations. It's obvious that he runs poor routes so he is developmental in that area. You combine that with questionable speed to translate his strengths to the NFL level and his value is diminished. You don't draft a 4.5 type developmental receiver at the top of the 1st round who simply is known for crossing the openfield/cutting it back against college players. Reggie Bush didn't even translate that stuff to the NFL. |

Ever heard of Calvin Johnson? Cordarrelle is a talented player and I expect him to declare this year but you're overrating him a tad. _________________

Yea, I wasnt trying to undermine his Corradelle's skills and I think he could be great, I have him ranked 7th on my WR rankings.
But did you totally forget about Tron? _________________

Maybe they should feed some to Tyler Bray.
On topic, I think Calvin Johnson would be the most athletic receiver since Randy Moss. I dont think Patterson is more athletic than Calvin Johnson.
He does not look 6'4"
Closer to 6'2" |

I would say just after watching him a bit i would say Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones look bigger, Stronger, and Faster than him. _________________

Patterson should be a top 20 lock if he comes out. Physically, the guy has it all. He would be perfect in Minnesota opposite of Harvin. Patterson is exactly what the Vikings need at WR. Peterson, Harvin and Patterson on the same field would give defenses nightmares. Now if only the team could find a QB.

Meh. All I see is one decent cut.
I don't think this guy is even a lock for the first round. |

Cordarrelle Patterson only has 4 receiving TDs in 10 games. He isn't exactly giving college defenses nightmares from an "NFL skill set translation" perspective. Cordarrelle Patterson and Harvin on the same team is redundancy. If the Vikings are going to add a WR high in the draft they need a true WR that is going to run excellent routes and not a guy that does a little of this and a little of that while hoping that he learns to run great NFL routes. |
