He is absolutely tearing up Miss State right now. What does everyone think of him as a prospect, and where does he rank among the other 4-3 DE's this year? Who does he compare to in the pros right now?

Pro comparison? Maybe Chandler Jones. I don't know if he has quite the same length but he does have some. He's bulky like him. Strong, athletic, and super intense.

I like him better than Mingo, who I think is overrated right now. Sam should go from mid to bottom 1st, but this is a deep class and he's got question marks about being able to beat quality NFL tackles. He's a better pass rusher than Chandler Jones was coming out, but Jones played the run better.

I wonder if he'll be a pure 4-3 end or if he'll go to OLB like what the Redskins do with Kerrigan. I think he may be better off going the latter route...

I'm always a little skeptical about defensive lineman that don't put up big sack numbers or get a lot of quarterback hurries, and that applies with Sam Montgomery.

Powerful but I don't think he's as gifted athletically as others are in this class. I don't see the speed and bend you see in great pass rushers. I prefer Tank Carradine, Alex Okafor, Ezekiel Ansah and Datone Jones as power pass rushers.
