hmm, that was a 1960's Twilight Zone episode starring Burgess Meredith as a geeky, bullied librarian. since nearly every TZ script dealt with irony as its plot device, Meredith embraced being alone in the world and reveled in being able to read any book he wanted now.
but then he broke his glasses and couldn't see. |
Yep. And Goosebumps remade the concept, then the Simpsons with a Tree House of Horrors episode, then Clockstoppers, then Click. And I'm sure a ton of other stuff in there as well. _________________

 | Well, Rihanna does look kind of like an alien. Plus Michael Jackson.
So, probably. _________________

...he also trained Rocky Balboa, arguably the greatest boxer known to man. Rocky ended the Cold War, you know. _________________

It's called time dilation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation
There's also length contraction.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Length_contraction
It's why you don't need to travel beyond the speed of light to travel between the stars in a reasonable period of time. All you need to do is keep accelerating.
The down side to all this is that the faster and longer you accelerate, the more earth years go by for every year you experience as the traveller. _________________
