-38° is crazy! I don't miss those kind of temps one bit.
I know the guys up north will think we're nuts but after you are down here for a couple of years the 40s do seem cold as hell. Heck, if it gets below 70 we grab a jacket! |
My heart goes out to you...
It's been -25 + (w/o the wind chill mind you) for like a week and a half here. I have a Vizsla, and he NEEDS his exercise daily or he is bouncing off the walls, yet I can't take him out for long due to the cold.

Ice Fishermen: I bought a package deal on Craigslist the other. It included a 10" ice auger. I took it out yesterday and it fired up after 3 pulls. Went to start punching my first hole, and it just sat and spun. It would make small scratches in the surface, but the blades wouldn't grab. I checked the blades and they're sharp. I asked another guy I was with to look at it, and right away he said, "It looks like it spinning backwards."
So here's my question: can augers spin either way? I was under the impression they only went clockwise. How do I fix this problem? Is it a shaft, or something as simple as flipping my blade around? |

I'm no ice fisherman, but I'd imagine it's just like a giant drill, no? In which case there should be a button/switch to get it to reverse direction? Just an idea.
