Maybe. But what if the lawsuit that follows makes HIM the owner.

Or...the lawsuit that follows could force Jerruh to sell the Cowboys to a new owner...who would hire a GM. _________________

Not counting Claiborne, the Dallas 2012 draft class has contributed a total of 5 solo tackles and 1 catch for 10 yards. He admitted that it is too early to judge this draft class, but it is interesting that in a draft in which every single player selected had a chance to unseat the incumbent, Dallas has received so little contribution up to this point. |
First off, how can you just not count Claiborne? He was our first round pick and immediately stepped in as starter. Thats just stupid (not saying you are stupid, but that notion made by Hitzges is stupid).
And, please explain to me which player drafted, other than Claiborne was expected to unseat the incumbent player? I don't think there was a soul on this forum that expected Tyrone Crawford to unseat Hatcher, Coleman, Spears, or Lissemore. Kyle Wilber had zero chance of beating out Ware, Spencer, or Butler. Hanna is behind Witten and Phillips. Matt Johnson hasn't been healthy for a nanosecond. Danny Coale was hurt almost all of training camp and is on the PS. McSurdy tore his achilles and is on IR.
Again, this is not directed at you but that statement from Hitzges is ridiculous. |
CLaiborne certainly should be included, but as the 6th overall pick, he was certainly expected to come in from day one and be a solid contributor.
Maybe it is a stretch to say that the rest of the players drafted were expected to unseat the incumbent starters, but every single player was picked at a position where they could at least compete at a position of need. That simply has not happened. And when you consider the injuries at the safety position, DE position, OLB position etc..., none of the players drafted at those positions has done much despite very marginal depth at those positions.
Again, neither I nor Hitzges is calling this draft class a bust, but it certainly has been a disappointment so far. His statement that "After round 1, the Cowboys have received the least impact of any team from their draft" is certainly on point. |

I didn't think of it like that. If Murray gets hurt for the next 2 years, we might have to look to get a more reliable RB. Good point _________________
