If he doesn't re-sign with the Saints, he's going to Dallas next season.
Although most likely he'll end up re-signing with the Saints... _________________

Only other place I could see him going to would be Dallas. I don't know if he would really leave New Orleans though, guess it just depends on if he wants a fresh start. Couldn't blame him if he did. _________________

He'll be re-signed to a new deal with the Saints. Payton isn't going anywhere. _________________ New Orleans Saints Super Bowl XLIV Champions |

Yea I can't see him hitting the open market. Although a team would overpay to get him. Can you imagine what Carolina would offer to just not have to play him twice a year? _________________

I wish we could get him, but I'm pretty sure he'll resign with New Orleans. _________________

| Payton lives in Dallas, I think, the Cowboys and the Saints are the only teams that make sense. I know some coaches like the challenge of taking on a new team, perhaps he would consider going to Dallas with the assumption that Jerry Jones keeps his hands out of the business like he did when Parcells was the HC in Dallas. |

Why in the hell wouldn't we want him as our HC? We have Romeo frickin' Crennel as our HC. I don't see him leaving the Saints anyway. _________________

So... how does this work? Was this per request?
If Sean Payton can just sign a brand new deal with the Saints, which in theory would be essentially the same thing he signed in 2011, what did Goodell accomplish? _________________

Any new deal signed by Payton would probably be less than what the original deal was, I would imagine. Payton is somewhat damaged goods right now, so I think Goodell just essentially wiped out the deal he got based on the super bowl win. If they are going that far, they may as well just take away the Saints super bowl win from the record books as well. |
