1. I don't like either draft.
2. Webb wouldn't get us 3 more wins than Ponder. |

I don't believe Webb is any better than Ponder, but I'll take playoffs anyday over missing it.
I feel like this whole thread is about losing though.
In general, I don't like either draft. _________________

Same. The only good thing about this is the off season signings. And I could probably live with T Will in the first. Scratch everything else |

| Also, the Vikings have 2 4ths - Det's and our own- and no 7th (it was given up in the AJ Jefferson trade). |

Webb would produce a couple more wins, Ponder can not throw the football, Webbs running ability as well as being a better playmaker would help our offense. Him being able to move out of the pocket and make a play with his feet he could find open recievers which Christian cannot. _________________

I would fully expect more wins with Webb at the helm than Christian at it. _________________

you mean the guy that got benched and then suspended?
At this point I doubt Marquess gets drafted. _________________

Just the thought that people think this team is 3 wins better with Joe Webb is laughable.
This is not a good team with Christian and it's not a good team with Joe. People, including myself, were fooled into thinking this team was ahead of schedule in the rebuild.
The last few games have brought out the ugly truth, and that's that this team has a lot of holes that still need filling. With the lack of viable receiver options and an ineptitude on defense this team wouldn't be competing for a super bowl even if we had Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees at QB.
There is still a lot of work to be done.
----------
That being said, I'm not a fan of Donald Driver or Tracy Porter. Not really a fan of the players in either draft.
Sorry to post my little rant in your mock draft thread. I'm sure you spent time on it to have it critiqued and not have this turn into another Ponder v Webb thread. _________________

That's what I see too. I'm all for winning now. I think that Joe's composure and touch on the deep pass would make a difference.
The NFL has shown that draft picks are a crap shoot, with only slightly better odds the higher you go. The NFL isn't college. Plenty of high draft picks crap out while a six round draft picks like Tom Brady become hall of famer. _________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Sure plenty of high round draft picks crap out, but even more do so that are drafted late. _________________

I think the first round rate of failure is something like 33% (first round picks that fail to go to the pro bowl during their career) Second round is 50% and so on. I does get wider as you go down although UDFAs sometimes provide gems like John Randle and Mick Tinglehoff.
Still, I wouldn't trash a season just to go up a few picks. You really have to seize what opportunities you have. _________________ To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |
