Team finishes 6-10 with a Top 10 draft pick and Dallas has to choose between Barkevious Mingo or Jonathan Hankins.... |
I will make you a 3 year sig and avy bet that this doesn't happen.
you game? |
I made a 40 dollar bet with my brother that the cowboys would lose at least 8 games. If they lose 7 its a push and if they lose 6 or less I have to cough up the change. I consider it money in the bank. |

On what the game the Cowboys would win or lose, or is the bet on the team just finishing 6-10? _________________

5-11. Now should we embrace the no huddle offense that might get us a couple of more wins. But that requires throwing conservatism out the window and being bold with the play calling and our strategy. Being proactive instead of reactive. Garrett is not there yet. _________________ Northland

I honestly don't care anymore whether they win or lose. With the injuries we have, I am ok with this team struggling in the win/loss column. But I cannot handle the moronic and idiotic mistakes that this team continues to make. Even worse, I am fed up that no one on the coaching staff seems to do anything about it. I dont have any answers, but I know that their current path is never going to get them anywhere. They will finish somewhere around 6-10. |

Absolutely. I'm guessing 3-5, though, which would give us 6-10. |

6-2, The worst is over as far as the schedule goes. While these games are not easy by any means they are not nearly as tough as the last 8. I think the defense is playing with some rage now, and i think that fuels them to perform well.
Is it enough for the playoffs? With all these divisional games coming it is very possible. It very well might be a 10 win season that gets you in though. I see Garrett giving the keys to Romo and I think this offense will start moving without Garrett in their way. If not he's fired, Jerry can posture it any way he wants to the media. But these last 8 games are Garrett's last chance to restore any confidence I once had in his brain ad ability. Last night was the straw that broke the camels back, he his holding this team back. _________________

@ Philadelphia - W - Our CB's matchup well with their WR's
vs. Cleveland - W - They are the Browns and they suck.
vs. Washington - L - Don't worry, we'll split the series
vs. Philadelphia - W - A sweep of the series and wildcard hopes are alive
@ Cincinnati - W - Playoffs are in sight, can almost taste it.
vs. Pittsburgh - L - Big day for Big Ben and the WR's. Wildcard is slipping away.
vs. New Orleans - L - Brees + Colston + Graham = Cowboys Loss and the playoffs are officially out of reach.
@ Washington - W - Winning a meaningless game to go 8-8 gives Jerry hope that Garrett will turn things around and gives him at least 1 more year to prove it. _________________

It's kind of obvious - higher pick leads to greater odds of getting the best talents in the draft or to be able to trade down to get a boatload of picks.
And with the new rookie contract scales, high picks are great assets.
On another note, I would rather see this team finish 3-13 than to finish 7-9 or 8-8 once again. If the team finishes around .500, JJ will most likely think this team is ever so close to competing for the SB and once again ignore that the team actually has numerous holes. |
I mean, look at teams' track records in the draft over the last decade+. In spite of the league's parity, there's 5ish teams that almost always draft in the second half and 5ish teams that almost always draft in the top half. Why's that? Stable (or unstable) quarterback and coaching situations likely play a role, but, really, the best teams consistently end up with the top talents in spite of lower draft position. You usually need a Top 5 pick to land a good quarterback, but otherwise, draft position should not really matter. _________________

I will give you points for confidence. But with the Cowboys anything is possible. 7-1 is a tall order for anybody let alone the Champions of Inconsistency. _________________ Northland

I think we are going to go 5-0 in the next five games to improve our record to 8-5. Then we will only need two out of the next three to make the playoffs. We lose all three and finish 8-8. |
