being that this game is at home and Detroit doesnt have a RB as good as Doug Martin and Marshawn Lynch, I think it will be more competitive and certainly winnable.
The Vikings play better when they can shut down the run, and without Detroit having a consistent running attack, I think that really plays to MNs strength.
I think the Vikings win this game in what will probably be a real ugly game. Peterson will have to have a big game for the Vikings to stand a chance, but what is new.
Vikings win 24 - 20 |

Megatron has picked up his play recently. That and no Cook makes me nervous about the matchup. _________________

He had two terrible games before exploding this week.
Not confident after watching these last two performances. With Ponder at the helm, confidence is at an all time low. Hopefully Peterson is healthy. Even though he dominated, you could tell he wasn't 100 percent against Seattle. Same with Harvin, I'd be content limiting or even keeping them out of practice all week. _________________

Ponder played like crap in the first matchup too, but we got the win. Something that's hard to do in Detroit.
This time we are at home, and Peterson keeps improving every game. _________________

It doesn't mean you can keep getting away with it, though. _________________

I just want to see Ponder play better. Obviously I want the Vikings to win (I think they will), but I want the Ponder suckage to stop _________________

No way we win this. Only reason we last time was because of ST and Ponder and Co. have just gotten worse from then. _________________

Has anybody else noticed that the passing game has only gone down hill since jerome simpson has stepped onto the field? The first 3 games where he was gone Ponder threw for 4 touchdowns and 0 picks. Since then he has 6 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He has had 2 games where he has been held to less than 70 yards. It seems like they are trying so hard at times, (especially in the Bucs game) to get him involved to open the offense that it's actually limiting the offense. The play calling has gone severely down hill since then. The Titans game, the offense played better after he left the game. Now i am not saying it's Simpsons fault but there is definitely some funk that has occured since he's played that wasn't there before |

I agree with you. I think to a certain extent, they've been trying to force the ball to him, and it just hasn't worked. _________________

When Harvin went out I was hoping he'd stay out for the game so someone could step up. I think Musgrave is forcing issues instead of letting players just play. _________________

The Vikings are going to need two kick return TDs again if they hope to win this one.
Not looking good with Percy hobbling around on a sprained ankle. _________________

Detroit is also playing much better football than they were around the time of the 1st game.
Honestly, I think we lose out the the rest of the season. I don't see a single win left on the schedule, unless there are insane improvements. _________________ Equal Opportunity Hater

That's a bit pessimistic. There are things that the team is doing wrong on both sides of the ball that are fixable. Maybe not fixable to the extent that they will be better than 2-5 the rest of the way, but I do expect them to play better than they have been. _________________

Adrian Peterson averages 119 yards and has 7 TDs in his career against Detroit in the Metrodome.
Is it safe to say he has a great game again? _________________
