Think Tom Crabtree could end up being the starter next year? He can flex between TE and FB and with Jordy, James, Randall and maybe Greg the pass threat is still there as well as the flexibility.

Tom Crabtree is a below average player. He's in there to block, which is the reason he's been wide open for two TD's, but he probably has the worst hands of anyone on the team, no chance I would ever start him.

All together this was a solid game for us, we just need to get healthy. My goodness was our second half offense awful, that's why we aren't a running team, Rodgers was out of rhythm and while we are capable of gaining 5-6 yards on a running play we are just as capable of losing 2 which is basically a sack. The lack of killer instinct on this team is still frustrating.

Damn nice guy to have around though. Great run blocker for his size. Nasty SOB! Will go for your bag if that's what it takes. Truth be told, that's a nice combo. Not too big that he can't excel on the teams unit. Hope he sees another contract from TT as long as it's with in reason. I would not want "that guy" as my long term starter either in todays NFL. But I like him enough that if my starter should go down for a week or two I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. Crabs is one of those cats that's hard not to respect. Gets everything out of what god gave him. My type of football player right there!

I'm with Palmy. I think we really assume it's the end of the world if Finley leaves in 2014 and we have Williams and Crabtree on the roster. They aren't bad football players. Dudes haven't shown amazing strengths but they haven't shown as big of flaws as Finley's hands either.

BTW Palmy do you think that Williams could be a full time "H Back" if Kuhn leaves?

I kinda think that's more Crabtree's gig. Extra blocker, Inline TE, FB, ST, but with just enough tools to actually force you to cover him. I really think Crabtree is to TEs almost exactly what Kuhn is to RBs

I really hope Bulaga can come back this year and not miss a significant amount of time.

I like him in that gig a hell of a lot more than I do as a standard TE. But like that Kuhn gig a good bit more with Taylor long term.

At the end of the day ya just need to move him around out there. He is anything but easy to find in your standard TE tree and his inline skills are below average, though willing. I would love his set if used the way the Skins have used their TE's. That or play him wide of an inline TE, a la how the Pats use AH.

Many ways to use that young mans skills. I'm not, and never will be a fan of short TE's though. This staff might view that thing different than I do. I view Williams as a very sound movement TE prospect. But much goes into making that mold "excel". Something I'm just not sure I would be willing to do. Ya got him though. Better come up with something!

I mean there's no way we roll out with 7 OL and only one tackle...I would assume we would have to.

Isn't Williams getting a lot more reps than Taylor there though?
So you think he's a Chris Cooley/Aaron Hernandez type more than a true TE, right? If Finley goes out though you think him or Crabtree end up being the "starting TE"?

Done for the season? He is going to a specialist because it could be a career ender. Not lying, this is a scary injury. Hopefully that femur did not pop out of his hip.

Wowza, our last 3 1st round picks are all injured, 2 very seriously. How depressing is that? Look at our last 3 drafts and the guys who have been on IR. Sherrod x2, Green, Neal, Burnett, Newhouse(IIRC), Quarless and now possibly Bulaga? Gotta be the highest % of recent draft picks in the NFL.

I will lay in bed at night and pray you are right. Bulaga has had a sub par season so far but if Lang were to get more hurt to the point he couldn't play, words can't describe how screwed we would be.

The news was even more ominous regarding Bulaga, who left during the first half Sunday with a hip injury. While McCarthy never specifically said his starting right tackle would visit a specialist, one could assume thatís what he meant

FWIW

It could be very serious, but it could equally be the monster in the closet.
