where to start.
Before i get ripped apart for being a 22 year old man scrapbooking, hear me out. My grandfather has been in the hospital for 17 days now and he is super depressed. I want to put together a scrapbook of photos, movie tickets, bottle tops etc. of things that we did together to cheer him up. I visit him as often as possible but he is just in a really bad funk.
Any advice where to start? Where to get a good book for it or advice on making it? _________________

My wife was big into scrapbooking a few years ago. I would check any local craft/fabric stores, maybe even WalMart, for a starter kit. After that, they should have a lot of stuff to add on as well - stickers, different color backgrounds, frames, etc...
And for the record, I think it's a nice idea. I think he'll really appreciate it, and I think it'll raise his spirits. _________________

Look online and see if you have an actual scrap booking store in town. Look at craft stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Joann, etc. Wal-Mart also has a scrap book section.
I think you have some good ideas how to make it. You can also make it a timeline, and add in the parent that belongs to him. _________________

You are a good person.
Besides that, I have no idea how to scrapbook. _________________

It's not really that tough once you get started. I made one for my girlfriend for Valentine's day a few years ago, mostly because I saved all of the movie tickets we had ever seen and it was getting too much to hide.
What I did to start was just go through facebook (or wherever the pictures you have are) and start to look through them and get an idea of some ways to divide up the pictures -- for instance any trips, holidays, sporting events, etc, and you can start to plan out what kinds of pages you want to have. Then I just went to JoAnn's Fabrics (any craft store will do) and they had the little binder thing and all kinds of accessories so I just picked up whatever. Then it's just a matter of putting the pictures in and the stickers/whatever on with it to look good.
It wasn't hard at all, just took a good bit of time but it's definitely worth it IMO. It has it's sentimental value for sure, and for someone in the hospital it'll certainly light their day up and give them something to look at to keep them in good spirits. _________________

If you're not 100% sure on scrapbooking, maybe put together an old photo album for him. Ask your other family members for photos of him. No matter what you do I'm sure it'll be well appreciated. _________________ Why, if it isn't my old friend, Mr. McGreg. With a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg. |

Seriously, bro. This sounds like a wonderful thing to do, and I would hope nobody would rip on you for it.
Hell, I wouldn't judge a dude for scrapbooking for the hell of it. I'm not into craftsy stuff but I do enjoy photography and I can see how some people might enjoy it.
Really though, Michaels and Hobby Lobby will be your jam for this.
Also: These are your best friend. They're these little pieces of tape/sticky stuff that are great to use on photos. DO NOT use glue on photos- over time it will cause them to discolor.
Best of luck! _________________

Yeah, but he's too scared to show his real face, so no one knows who he really is. _________________
