The 07 season was awesome on FF. So much hate, yet so much 'ownage'. Weird to think I was 16 then :/ |
I was just thinking "I was only 19..." feels weird. I joined late that season, mostly because everyone I knew in the real world was sick of hearing me talk about a sport they had barely heard of.
The predictions in the Moss thread gave me a nostalgia attack. Our Canadian mod was predicting the record early though. Props to him. _________________

Meh. I have no fond memories of '07. None. _________________

I don't know if it's already been posted in this thread but Brees' streak is over at 54.
So I just saw the week 13 other games thread. So Tom can get the record in week seven next year. Part of me would rather he got to Unitas or Brees' mark and then insist on punching it in with sneaks, Ridley, Woodhead and the other backs just because he can. |

I have just found out that Robert Kraft is not the owner of Kraft Foods...and I'm totally surprised. Apparently I made that assumption and never bothered to check, been operating under that misapprehension for nearly 6 years. _________________

So currently, if a coach throws a challenge flag on a scoring play, which are automatically reviewed, the review is nullified and they get an unsportsmanlike penalty, which as its after the play is assessed for the next play, correct? So say a coach benefits from NOT having their score reviewed. As in it clearly wasn't a score, but the coach knows it. If they just throw a challenge flag, doesn't that automatically null the review and give them the score at the cost of one of their challenges and 15 yards on their kickoff? Seems like a massive loophole that the NFL seems to have missed. It's like they took the ability for coaches to challenge a play and turned it into a veto on a review.
For example: Texans TD on Thanksgiving and the Saints fumble one (or whatever it was) tonight. If Kubiak/Vitt had thrown their challenge flag, wouldn't they have just automatically gotten the touchdown? As far as I know there's no rule regarding challenging your own play. They could just say they're "challenging that there's 12 men on the field" or something. I guess that doesn't matter anyway, though, as they don't honor the challenge. Schwartz threw his flag and it automatically gave the Texans the score, why couldn't Kubiak have done the same? |
Yeah I had to brush up on the rule book for this too.
Say this happens.
>We score
>Its a 50-50 play
>Bill throws the challenge flag
>Whatever he challenges still can be reviewed by the booth as all scoring plays are reviewed
>Unless you throw the flag for something thats not your fine
>Play is reviewable
Thats where its confusing. Other coach doesn't just have control of totally dictating games like that. That would suck. _________________

Perhaps, but there is a much better opportunity to meet people with whom you share common interests with on the internet.
For instance, I don't talk sports (not in depth anyway) with 95% of my "real life" friends and family.

This x100000
I don't have a single football related (or sports related, for that matter) conversation during my week unless I go to a sports bar on Sunday. The only sport anyone around me is remotely interested in is soccer. |
Could be worse; you could have the degenerates around you constantly hitting you up for handicapping services as the extent of your football conversation during the week. |

Well it's good some seemingly important people realize this quirk. I must say an ex-referee saying "No, I don't think it would ever be interpreted like that" isn't the most comforting of things to hear, but it's something nonetheless.
Could you imagine the backlash if a team lost a game like that, though? Good god. |
