This week we have a battle of the felines.
The Detroit Lions:
vs.
The Jacksonville Jaguars:
Questions:
Will the Lions defense be able to pounce on the Jaguars offense with key contributor Maurice Jones-Drew injured?
With Maurice Jones-Drew injured, will the Jaguars be able to utilize the game play of their next best player; 5th round pick of 2014?

Sweet.
So this is going to be a great game. Jacksonville is one of the least talented teams in the league. It is between them and KC for who deserves the #1 pick.
Gabbert has only been sacked 17 times which is not horrible. I was more nervous about MJD in this game but Detroit did a great job of stopping Lynch outside the one long run.
Detroit secondary makes all QBs look great so far but Gabbert is not even getting 175 yards a game. He has only thrown 3 Int though so far.
The defense in Jacksonville is horrible. They have a league worst 7 sacks. Also near bottom of league in rushing yards allowed. If Det can not run against this team they simply are never going to get a running game this year.
Their ST play is actually not too bad overall though which could present some issues.
They have played a lot of teams tough and been in several games despite the lack of talent.

This is a game we have no business losing if we want to be considered playoff contenders. I expect Stafford to have another solid game like last week, and Calvin to bounce back as well. The only Jaguar I'm somewhat concerned about is Cecil Shorts( at least from what I read over at the Jags forum he sounds legit). However, Chris Houston has been one of the best corners this year in football imo, and Gabbert really isn't that good. In the end I expect us to win by 10+

I doubt Mike Thomas sees the field but that would be funny.
Looking at his stats the only two decent years he had was with Garrard. Since then they have had nothing at QB.
I hope Stafford can utilize him later in year to make it worth the pick _________________

These kind of posts are why I can't tell if you're ignorant or trolling half the time... MJD has all but been ruled out for this week. _________________

NO. I was is in the past. It means I am no longer because he is ruled out.
The Lynch reference is due to fact Jennings is a bigger back so not worried there. _________________

Remember that game where we had no business losing against the Titans and we did?

Yeah GB only beat them by 9 at home last week, so anything can happen. _________________

I'm curious to see if our defense can continue to be a force in both the run and pass game. They aren't very talented on offense. Honestly, I don't see a single matchup that isn't in our favor. I don't say that to insult Jags fans, that's just how I see it... possibly Blackman on whoever our #2 CB is, but even that isn't a slam dunk.
At the end of the day, we win this game by triple digits

Meh, GB was fielding a very banged up secondary, and Rodgers didn't have Jennings nor Nelson to throw to. |

So from what I've found online it looks like Martz is going to be commentating this one, who also was commentating the Titans game we were supposed to win easily. So if we lose this one as well it has to be a curse Martz has on us. |

Jacksonville is one of the least threatening teams in the league, especially without their best player with MJD being unlikely to play. All I can say is that they'd better get a W here or I'm going to be pretty upset.
I'm also curious as to what Mike Thomas will be able to tell us about the way their offense runs. Mayhew has made pickups before just to get a tell on how their weekly opponent works (like when we picked up Kevin O'Connell from the Jets on waivers right before our game against the Jets in 2010). _________________
