None. The longer that goes by the less severe I think any punishment will be. I think they will come back and modify the rule to include the towel but say it doesn't meet the definition of the previous rule.
The rule is it can't leave residue on the ball which the towel doesn't but I can see them modifying it to any residue on anything coming into contact with the ball for future seasons.
IMO it's a competition council thing.
