I second this. More running room for DQ. |
More like more room for DQ to stand around and wait for tackles. JMJ, though? He'll be making the most of it. |
Did you not pay attention last year?? when he had two starting quality DT's in front of him??
Whats changed? the DT's. Thats it.
Its amazing how blind some people are. | I know right! I mean 1 on 1 DQ gets OWNED by just about every RB in the hole. He never stones a guy in the hole solo. What's changed? |
Through 8 games this year, DQ has 18 stops and 3 TFL. According to PFF and ANFLS.
Last year, he had
62 Stops- 4th most of any LB. 3rd among all MLB/ILB's.
12 TFL- 17th most of any LB. 2nd among all MLB/ILB's
I'm sorry, he's not a thumper, but he produces. and thats all I care about. He's great at everything else. But I guess you'd be happier with Burfict or Maualuga at MLB, right? |
Anybody that wins +50% of 1 on 1 in the hole.
The reason DQ makes so many stops is because they are for positive yardage. RB's always pad there yards after contact stat with DQ. _________________ The Dawgpounds new three headed monster!

He was 3rd among ALL ILB's in TFL!!!
all you've ever done in any post that disputes your opinion of DQ is ignore anything that proves you wrong. All those Stops are a result of him being a smart player and knowing where to be and when to be there. Not every single tackle can be made at the LOS.
Brian Cushing had 62 stops and 9 TFL last year
Ray Lewis had 54 stops and 4 TFL
Sean Lee had 46 stops and 10 TFL
Patrick Willis had 38 stops and 8 TFL
Navarro Bowman had 70 stops and 13 TFL
Daryl Washington had 51 stops and 16 TFL
He was 4th for sacks last year among all ILB's.
According to you, he's good in coverage. Has good athleticism.
I've provided proof that he can get to the QB, get TFL, and is always around the ball.
But the fact that he can't stone wall a RB, I guess he needs replaced.
Makes so much sense. How could I miss that???? [/sarcasm]
As I said, some people are just blind.
*edit* I was wrong about his TFL rank, I miss counted. he was third. Behind Washington and Bowman. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

lololol.
He performed better than nearly every ILB in the league last year and is our smartest football player on D, yet he should move to Will. The least important position on defense. What a joke.
You don't think he's ever going to meet a RB on the outside? Again, ignore what I've stated that proves you wrong. _________________ 2013 First Ballot Recipient of the Joe Blackburn Award |

I'm with you bulldog.... Lets move our best defensive player who is widely considered around the league a top 5 player at his position, to a new position because in our opinion he COULD I repeat COULD be good there...... No thanks _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient

I'm really excited to have Taylor back. It seems like some of you forget just how good Taylor was last year considering he was a rookie. We all figured he'd be good against the run since he's so big and takes up a lot of space. However, not many of us realized how good he'd be at collapsing the pocket and applying pressure to the quarterback.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Within the next year or two, I think it's very possible that the Browns could end up having the best unit of DTs in the league. Rubin & Taylor could end up being one of the best starting tandems in the league while Hughes & Winn could become some of the best backups in the league. I mean, they look like they could be good starters so imagine how good they would be coming off the bench. _________________ Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee

Count me in the camp of those who want to keep D'Qwell at the MIKE. If you think about the great ILB's in the league, all of them have a good interior D-line in front of them. Remember how mediocre Ray Lewis was in those couple years between Siragusa and Ngata? Where would P-Willis be without Justin Smith? You don't hear much from the Steelers ILB's now that Casey Hampton/Aaron Smith are gone/fading away.
While I love what Winn and Hughes are doing as rookies, they are not as good as Rubin and Taylor. There is no doubt in my mind that D'Qwell will be helped by their return. _________________ Cleveland Browns: We put the fun in dysfunction.

I really hope they don't rush these guys back....They are both young talented players who have not played much if any football this year. Talent wise it may be an upgrade, but game ready wise, Winn and Houges may be better ATM..
I would really like to see them both after the bye week when they had more time to practice with the team. _________________

Would love to see a DT rotation of Rubin, Taylor, Winn and Hughes start to take shape this Sunday by smacking down Flacco and Rice. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

This 4 man rotation will be big for us. DT is our deepest position and it's great having guys who are multi-faceted. Keeping these big guys fresh is going to be huge for this defense moving forward
And as Bulldog said, LB's are finally going to have space to roam without having a guard or center on them immediately. Our group of LB's atm are based around flying around the field, but in order for that to work, they must stay clean. I'm excited and happy that our DL is finally getting healthy, it'll make the defense as a whole much more effective |

Why would anyone in their right mind want to get rid of or move DQ. The man is a leader and makes plays all over the place. When we do start to win I'll be happiest for him because he's stuck it out for the worst of times with us and he has gotten way better in the process. _________________
