its come to the point where there is more often than not a holding/block in the back penalty on returns. its frustrating as hell for the fans and you know Cribbs is pist about it as well. he's still got it as a returner but guys like Ventrone who constantly hold should not be part of the team anymore. |

Yeah the holding calls are starting to irritate everyone. Im sure the other teams are even irritated by it.
Ventrone got hit TWICE in one game. It's one thing to do it once but twice. C'MON MAN! |

Not pointing any fingers, it's just laughable. |
And?
I'll make observations when ever I feel like it. I don't hate Holmgren, I didn't like the Weeden pick and I gave Shurmer a whole year before I said anything negative about him.
The guy isn't a head coach and he'll probably get fired.
I'm going to say what I want. If you take that win and just act like nothing needs to be improved then that is laughable and idiotic. |
I wasnt talking about you bro. Get defensive much? _________________

I've seen one person who reviewed the all-22's and said the first call was ticky tack and the second call was totally bull.
Im wondering if we are doing something to PO the refs before the game, they say that holding can be called on every play, but man this is really bad. _________________

ST overall, except for Dawson and occasionally Cribbs, have been awful since Seeley took his talents to SF. _________________ Everything happens exactly the way it is supposed to happen...otherwise, it would happen some other way |

I agree. Tober needs to go.
Offensive play calls. Why did we switch to play action scheme on every single pass play nobody believes we are going to run on 3rd and 10. This is so stupid. Why not just spread everyone out and let Weeden find someone?
All depends on the play design. If the first read is over the middle, and you suck up a LB a few yards, it makes it a much easier completion. And PA was a good call, considering how well we ran the ball. don't see the issue here.
Where was Cooper other than they play he dropped a ball? He has been our best possession receiver over the past 2 weeks.
Here's the snap break down
Total snaps on offense = 65
Gordon- 61
Little- 59
Cooper- 15
Cribbs- 6
Benjamin- 5
Watson- 61
Cameron- 29
A. Smith- 23
I'd say thats a fair amount of snap distributions. Its obvious we thought we could run on them, and considering the conditions, Why would we put 3 WR's on the field alot? And 2 weeks do not make a career. He's a guy thats done well, but lets not get carried away.
Where is Benjamin other than running a stupid double reverse when we were moving the ball I haven't seen this kid.
He is still coming back from that hammy, and I think he's been on the injury report b/c of it. So I think its safe to assume they are limiting him for now.
Trent Richardson
For how very talented and physically gifted can you find a stinking hole and just run through it or run somebody over?? I hate the dancing in the back field.
I've mentioned this as well. He did so much better at it last night. I think the injury is part of it. He will get better I'd say. He's still learning that he's not the most physically gifted player on the field anymore.
O-Line
I don't think Weeden has been touched in like 3 weeks. These guys actually doing a great job.
They have done very, very well. Hopefully the run blocking continues to improve. |
There's my thoughts. |
Nice breakdown, but the only thing is, how after was cooper running routes to get the ball rather than running routes to open things up for other routes. I would really like to see Cooper get the ball more! _________________

I've decided that I'm not going to make too many judgments/complaints on the offense based on the San Diego game. I think it was an anomaly, and our original game plan went out the door due to the weather. Shurmur said as much in his press conference that they had a lot of pass plays that they were looking forward to running but had to ditch them because of the weather.
I'll definitely join in the complaints about ST penalties, though. I think there's some truth to what EZ said, though. We seem to be getting more than our fair share of calls against us when it comes to ST. You could almost call a penalty on every return in the league if you go by the letter of the law. Hopefully, things start to balance out a bit. _________________ Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Play calling, Play calling, Play calling
T-Rich not hitting the holes
O-line not creating the holes
Not getting enough sacks to effect the QB _________________

- Not using Cameron and his speed at TE. Why are we not running seam routes with him?
- Cribbs talking too much to the media. Thats the last thing this team needs is a distraction caused by him spouting off to the media.
- Lack of pass rush
- The 3rd down playcall on final drive against SD. Why call a rollout where you basically split the field in half and give your QB 2 options to throw to when a first down basically secures the win. Awful, Awful, Awful....I do give props to Weeden for at least sliding and running the clock more. _________________

Yep.
Seems like its whenever Cribbs gets a good return and its fairly far away from the play too. _________________

Could not agree more. This has been allowed to go on for too many years now. |
