If I could trade back, pick up another 2nd round pick, and get the TE from ND late in the first I'd be loving that. I think he could contribute sooner than a WR. Being they are from the same team Fasano should take him under his wing (even if he sees his future replacement). |
Alright...hypothetically:
We sit @ draft pick #17 and no one's willing to trade back. Do you take TE?
I think that's the interesting question. If we get to trade back and manage another 2nd in the process I think we'll be hard-pressed to screw this draft up no matter who we select. |

That is an interesting scenario, I'll take stab at that if you don't mind ...
My answer is no, not if there is an OG or Sack specialist worthy of #17.
I think it's important to remember that we'd still have the ability to move up or down considering we
have another 4 pks in rnds 2 and 3.
It just seems to me that by this logic you are still addressing a players quality & team needs at the right time & value.
I mean unless you are 100% certain your looking at the next Antonio Gates.
my 2 cents

I am not sure there is a TE worth the 17th pick and it is a weak class. Tyler Eifert is solid though

If you can get a TE in the caliber of Gronkey Kong, Hernandez, Davis, etc. yes you take him in the first round. But in the Fasano class? No. _________________
