To be fair, Palmer was high on Thompson as a developmental player. I don't think anybody expected him to come in and do as a rookie what Cook is doing in his fourth year.
I think it's as simple as this: the recent offensive changes are here to stay, Stevens is a good enough receiving TE for what the offense requires, Stevens and Thompson are both better blockers than Cook, and the coaching staff is banking on Thompson developing into a weapon type TE. Just a theory, but I bet that's why his snaps have dropped off. |

Which one do you dislike more? Serious question. I think Gray is causing far more problems. |

I think Palmer this year has shown he's a solid offensive coordinator.
Leads me to believe the problem is with Cook, not Palmer. |

I doubt that, Cook has outperformed everybody when he gets thrown to, and Thompson has shown nothing outside of blocking. _________________

Just think about it..
Palmer has been a solid OC for us. Not amazing, but solid.
Why wouldn't he use a 6'5, 250 pound man who runs a 4.4? He's using Britt correctly now that he's healthy. He's using Washington correctly. Using CJ correctly. Using Wright correctly..you're going to tell me he can't do the same with Cook?
It's likely Cook just goofs off in the film room or doesn't give it his all in practice, or something similar. I highly doubt this is on Palmer. |

This makes me sick.
You draft talented players in order to build a team.
This does not involve letting them walk after several years of development.
Clearly, our front office doesn't understand this. We let Finny walk and now this. I just can't wrap my head around it.
I hate rooting for a team that has no idea how to win in the NFL. _________________

True, but Stevens performs well enough when thrown to and Cook is the worst blocker of the three. If Palmer needs a TE to block like a champ and be useful, but not spectacular, in the passing game, then Cook's ship has sailed. |

OK so obviously I'm not the only one whose been noticing this over the last several weeks. I've been saying time and time again that we need to get Cook more involved in the game. Since Matt-Hass been starting, I've seen less and less of Cook until late in the 4th on crucial drives. I don't have a problem with us using Craig Stevens more because he makes plays for us as well, but not if it's at the expense of using Cook even less. I hope we DON'T trade him and start using him more. I get the feeling that will all change if Locker takes over because Cook is one of his favorite targets.
BTW: If we did trade Cook, my guess would be with the Rams. He's one of Fisher's picks and would be a good weapon for Bradford and getting targeted more. And Fisher has draft picks to deal thanks to his buddy Shannahan. _________________ Wedding Vow: I promise I will love you until the day you really p-ss me off.

I do love Stevens, but if Palmer cannot adapt his game plan to fit his most talented player, then Palmer's ship has also sailed. _________________

Most talented player? I'd say CJ and Britt are both more talented than Cook. CJ has looked really good lately, thanks in part to offensive formations that specifically do not involve Cook but do involve the other TEs. I don't think that's a coincidence. Britt... well CJ has looked good lately. |

I can't believe people are saying things like "Palmer doesn't know football" over this..
With the strides Locker has made, the strides Britt has made(when healthy, anyway), Wright looking better each week, Nate Washington completely turning his career around, going from butterfingers to arguably our most sure handed receiver, the improvement our offensive line has made this year, CJ getting back to normal, etc...
And he suddenly "doesn't know football" because he doesn't involve one man, and the people are saying this without even knowing what's going on? |

They locked up Stevens before the season and drafted Thompson. No way they give Cook a big contract. The handwriting was on the wall when they extended Stevens and not Cook. Might as well get something for him now and not let him walk after the season unless they plan to franchise him like they did Bo Scaife . Cook has alot of talent, I just think either Munch or Palmer does not care for him for some reason. _________________

I'll say this on Jared Cook front: I don't think for a second the #Titans will trade him. Will they utilize him more? That's the question |
