Agreed.
Not sure how much you can put on Rivera though - despite how much people will want to crucify him for the loss.
Where was the pass rush that we'd been putting on them all day?
Is that Rivera's fault or is that the players? |
Chicago ran the same play over and over again. We had a timeout to burn. Chicago even had an incompletion which allowed us to regroup. And we still couldn't stop it. It was wide open each time. That is on the coaches. We failed to adjust like always.
I'm now realizing why it took so long for Rivera to get a head coaching job. And this one should be over. |
It was Foxian in nature, that's for certain. _________________

Rivera is totally to blame for the coverage on the last play. Captain has even publicly questioned it. They ran cover 4 the entire way, the Bears ran four double slants.
They were scared of getting beat. They hadn't been beaten deep all game. Does anyone know if Cutler could have even had time to throw a deep pass?
I actually had no idea Dwan Edwards went down in the second quarter. That hurt us. He's a big part of the rotation. |

I would much rather play more aggressive and get beat with time on the clock to make a play, rather than allow them to methodically work their way down the field and kick a game winning FG. Playing much more aggressively is going to make their offense work harder for the score. _________________

godfrey joined munnerlyn in saying that the coverage being played let the bears nickel and dime their way down the field with ease.
i'm afraid we're going to wind up like last season's bucs where everyone quits. _________________

I feel confident saying the staff has lost the team. _________________

I feel confident saying the staff has lost the team. | Yep. I agree. I'm of the thinking that if the players are buying into what Rivera is selling, then they should at the very least give him another year. That said, if he has lost them, the bright side is that letting him go is a no brainer. No real tough decision there outside of who to hire next. |

Hire Cowher...we've only been preaching it for the past 4 years. I know it depends on if he wants to, but this team has major potential. This defense was playing GREAT today, and then some changes in scheme and everything gets thrown out the window _________________
