It's one thing to allow a game winning drive. But Brandon Marshall ran the same route every single play on that drive. You've seen him run the slant 3 times already; maybe you should think about jamming him at the line. _________________

| Rivera is so bad. Chicago had the easiest 2 minute drill ever. |

Rivera called a good game today. We should have won. We beat the [inappropriate/removed] out of the Bears for 4 qtrs. This wasn't on Rivera. This on Smith not making the cut and catching the TD pass.
We were in the redzone several times and didn't score TD's. |

I'm just at a loss for words.
I don't know why we threw the ball on that pick 6.
But ofcourse Smith tripped.
Then Newton leads a go ahead drive.
And we lose due to pitiful prevent D. _________________

So, should they have kicked a FG at the end of the half.
The NFL is so gift wrapped for 2 minute drives. Defenses just crumble all over the league.
Having a young secondary doesn't help either.
Two plays:
1. 8 yard punt
2. Smith slips, pick-6
Why couldn't thing roll Carolina's way once in a while? |

so who should be interim? i vote mcdermott.
make brandon beane interim GM.
seriously though... is anyone surprised? did you ever feel confident that we would win? i know i didn't. was waiting the entire time for us to blow it. not even upset. just like 2010... waiting for the staff to be fired and using panther football to occupy a couple hours on my lazy sundays. _________________

Agreed.
Not sure how much you can put on Rivera though - despite how much people will want to crucify him for the loss.
Where was the pass rush that we'd been putting on them all day?
Is that Rivera's fault or is that the players?
Players coming through when it matters most (like CHI just did) isn't always even the fault of the opposition - is it our fault if they play well? I'm just a little surprised at how many people are jumping at Rivera's throat before the stadium is even empty.
Give it time to go back and see what happened on the last few plays. How did players get open, were we in the right personnel etc before you call for him to be fired.
We played a good game right up to the INT (are you guys gonna blame Rivera for Steve Smith losing his footing now?)
The play up to then showed we learned a few lessons and had made a few changes. It's one game since we said we'd make changes - be patient. You don't take a 1-5 team and change them overnight. _________________ Still the only UK-based Panthers fan I know...hang on a minute...I might be the only one IN the UK! |

If the entire coaching staff is not fired by tomorrow, I'll be extremely suprised. McDermott for sure, that was the worst play calling I've seen in a 2 min drill. I understand not wanting to get beat deep, but roll a safety over the top and jam Marshalls a$$ at the line. The other losses sucked but this was one of the worst games i've ever seen in my life. #fireRivera _________________
