Doug Martin is a tank... a bunch of our players were holding shoulders or arms after making tackles against him.
I feel really bad for Chris. He seems to have done a good job of cleaning up his act and was really playing quite well this season. First big injury for the team and it's time to see how they will respond.
As stated above, it hurts this year, but this team isn't winning anything this year. Let's get good looks at Robinson, Jefferson, and possibly Burton or the kid from Nicholls (assuming he's elevated off the practice squad). Jefferson played fairly well last night aside from the missed tackle on the Doug Martin screen play; his athleticism shown through on his pass breakup on the rub route intended for Vincent Jackson. _________________

Hopefully we can bring up Felder, I really don't want to see Sherels. _________________

Saw enough of Sherels when he got shook by Vincent Jackson on a whip route. _________________

He has been a pretty good PR but at CB, he should never see the field. |

Right, he was the #4 corner when Cook went down. I don't think Brandon Burton was active so he may have been our only option but they can't let him be that guy going forward. _________________

Not surprised at all. He came off the field clutching a limp wrist, I've had a similar injury and it can be a tough one. If we make the playoffs, I'm not sure he'll play as well as he was playing. _________________

Teams usually dont have 6 active CBs. Purely as a CB, I would guess Burton is higher in the order than Sherels. Sherels is only active due to his ability as a PR. |

3 straight years he'll be missing time.
He doesn't put up the stats (never has an official interception), but he's a great cornerback to play one on one with some of these WRs.
He can't play against the Mike Williams, Andre Roberts, Donnie Averys, but against Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Larry Fitzgerald he's key to us.
If we make something out of this season and manage to make the playoffs, he'll be back right on time. _________________

We're going to see how valuable Chris Cook was to this team for the next couple of weeks.
There will be a fair/significant drop off in pass defense unfortunately in my opinion. _________________

Should be more opportunities for Robinson and Jefferson, hopefully they can step up to the challenge. Jefferson looks real athletic out there and real lean. Could be a good matchup for bigger NFC North WRs. |

Hopefully those youths can do well out there.
We will be able to get a look at what we have in them.
If we're drafting around the 17-18th position, and the WRs are gone and there is no option to trade back, I wonder if they take a look at one of those CBs such as Rhodes or Banks, if Winfield hangs it up and the youths struggle. _________________

Can we really depend on him as a starting cornerback going forward? _________________

A broken arm is kind of a fluke injury, its not like a chronic knee or back problem. If Cook has his troubled past behind him, I think the Vikes can count on Cook going forward. Doesnt hurt to have depth though in case any one of the CBs cant play, but its not something i would worry about early in the draft; unless Winfield retires. |

jefferson has potential and we will see what happens now that he gets the chance. He was in good position on the play he got beat, so maybe with a couple of more improvements he will be able to become something _________________ All in for the underdog vikings making a push this season. |
