Normally, i'd really like to be top 10 by now to get an elite guy.
This draft, at least on the surface, appears to be the weakest that I can remember.
Picking 15 would be completely fine with me.
Still get a top 3 Pass rusher or maybe a top 2 CB.
Cool with that.

Pass rush.
But BPA at CB, DE or LB is what i want. |
A huge yes. We get a guy that can consistently get to the QB on the RDE position and that makes our CBs better. We do however need to look for Browns replacement. So BPA with our 1st IS the way to go. _________________

You guys have to remember that there is a rookie scale now. This attitude is not as valid as it used to be. Now if you want the top talent, it is better to draft at the top. |
Im not forgetting that, but I'd still rather have the same calibre player at $8.6 Million (Dre Kirkpatrick) than at $16.4 Million (Mo Claiborne) _________________

And if you're talking offensive guards, I don't want to pay a rookie interior lineman $10M when you could get a proven young veteran guard (Levitre, Schwartz's brother, et al) for nearly the same price but without spending the high draft pick.
I am of the mind that great guards are developed, not drafted. The overwhelming majority of high-quality offensive guards in the NFL weren't drafted anywhere close to the top 15. |

Actually the rookie pay scale is not based on draft position alone. I was read an article on it during last years draft and there is a formula that is used the takes into account player position and draft position. I don't know how it works obviously but it was pretty clear that say a guard picked at #6 would make less than Claiborne at #6 because guards don't make nearly as much as corners.
Anyway I came in here to say I hope we can keep winning and get to the middle of the draft as it gives us a much more realistic chance of trading down to gain our 2nd rounder back. I really only see 4-6 guys who even have Top 10-15 talent. Obviously 15 guys have to go in the Top 15 and that is were I would rather get that middle of the road talent in the middle of the draft as appose to the Top 10.
Even right now at #7 is a more realistic trade down than the Top 3 we were looking at early in the season. Someone like Te'o may fall to that range and we get lucky and get a trade offer for someone who wants a defensive leader. _________________

Im kind of hoping we end up picking right before the Jets. Then if one of the two QB's falls our phone will be ringing off the hook. _________________

As of now I have us drafting at pick 9. If the Saints,Cards,Dolphins andLions lose I think we draft at pick 13. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272

I don't mind picking mid first round but hate how it pushes us down every other round. _________________ browns and indian fan 7272

If I had it my way we'd pick 32nd every round. _________________
