I wouldn't be opposed of resting jay cutler in this one. it's a shortened week as it is and he's nursing some hurt ribs. granted he's the toughest quarterback in the league (and I'd like to see anyone argue that) but in a game like this I wouldn't mind seeing number 2 taking snaps instead of number 6 |
Run up the score, then rest Cutler. _________________

The players have been talking all week about how they want redemption after last year's ugly win against the Panthers. _________________

This is the question that I think defines this game, because of how well our defence has played.
How does the Carolina defence stop our offence?
-elite pas rush, no.
-strong run defense, no.
Their best CB and LB just hit IR and the defense was not that good to start. _________________

I'm going to reference that Jaguars game. In the first half we sucked, D and O. On paper we should blow them out, but that rarely happens in real life.
We have to show up to win, however, Lovie really preps these guys to not overlook teams.
I can't remember the last time we lost to a team we were suppose to beat. But we will have a let down at some point! _________________

Our run defense is good/great, especially ever since Beason went down and Kuechly and Davis were the starters. Hated to lose Beason and never rejoice over injuries but Davis/Luke have looked a lot better than he had. It's our pass defense that stinks. |

They have been since Kuechly took over the middle. Earlier in the season, they clogged the holes well, just couldn't tackle (Beason was a huge culprit of our tackling woes as well). Since then, we've wrapped up well and now us being in position is paying off. We eliminated Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle game and erasing the run game of Dallas allowed us to slow down their offense in general.
Maybe not great but it isn't bad either. At the very least, I don't expect Forte to light it up on us like he has in the past.
Our pass defense on the other hand is dreadful. |

Collins looked good during training camp and preseason games, but this is the first time he will be active on game day this season. The Bears declared WR Alshon Jeffery, WR Dane Sanzenbacher, G Edwin Williams, DT Matt Toeaina, TE Brody Eldridge, DT Amobi Okoye, and DE Cheta Ozougwu inactive for Week 8 against the Panthers. |
Not a great sign that Okoye is missing this game. |

Especially since he wasn't on the injury report this week and didn't miss any practice time. _________________

Not sure…he wasn’t on the injury report all week but there were obvious concerns over his knee at the start of the year…maybe Collins has just looked better in practice the last few weeks. |

Here's to an injury free game. Good Luck today.
I'm eager to watch Brian Urlacher, always one of my favorite non-Panthers, I have expectations that Luke Kuechly will reach Urlacher status one of these days. _________________
