How can you know he's terrible against the run when he's never in the game. We should give him a chance. Like 43 said, Hampton can't be all that much better. I still am holding out hope Ta'amu does well though and will be our future NT, or possibly Hood as Kethy has stated. Also, I don't follow college football a ton, but looked up the players a little and liked their positional value.

Because when he is in the game and playing NT he is blow 4 yards off the LOS.

Another answer is to move Ziggy inside and play McLendon as the LDE.

That's exactly what Kethy and I were thinking. I'd even prefer Heyward over Keisel at RDE at this point, or at least share the snaps 50-50.

I've seen him enough on the run to know he is worst option than Hampton at this point.

Lucky, there are 3-4 very good NT players in the up coming draft.

Thats why I was saying Im surprised not many people are mocking any to us.

IMO, our biggest issues are on the DLine.

Personally...I just want any playmaker on defense we can get, regardless of position. We arent going to fill all the holes in one year, so just go BPA in the first 3 rounds at pretty much any position on defense.

And when I say BPA....I mean proven quality college prospects....not projects with huge upside.

i have not mocked any to the Steelers but i have mentioned it several times in this thread and others. Sylvester Williams, Johnathan Hankins, Johnathan Jenkins,Kawann Short and Jesse Williams can all be quality NT in the league.

He's been all over the field.

Definitely would love him in Pittsburgh especially since ILB is a need. Tied for third in FBS with four interceptions too.

What if we did something like:

1. S Reid
2. OLB Okafor
3. ILB Skov

I'd take that.

I'll take Mauti for the money over Teo. Teo is a very nice player but is he worth that much more than Mauti...he's not super fast, he's not a great blitzer, just an all around good football player, spiritual leader. What part of that equation is Mauti not?

I'm a PSU alum, but am very typically and openly more critical of PSU players than any. That being said I like the things Ive seen from Mauti this year from a purely play and effort aspect than I have from any PSU LB in several years. Better than current NFL MLB's Lee, Connor and even Bowman to an aspect as Bowman may have been more physically gifted but Mauti is more sound and much more from a leader & effort aspect as well as it seems from an understanding of the game.

In the end I'm just saying I'd probably seek other options in the first over Teo, it seems more like a reach for a good player at a position of need rather than some other possibilities that have more elite capabilities. When you can very possibly pick up a player of similar talent level a round or so later.

I'd be a bit surprised to see Okafor that far down.

What I see in TeO so far is an equal or better blitzer than Timmons and a better pass coverage guy.

Running Fires with them would destroy opponnents.

Yes, if they dont get there our terrible mediocre backup S's will get scorched

I think he is more of a game changer ILB than Reid is S.

Hopefully next year we find the playmaker for the S.

Who do you like more him or fellow teammate Jeffcoat? I realize that Jeffcoat is out with a torn pec but once he is healthy who do you feel is better in your opinion?

Sorry, I bet a lot of people follow it more. I went by Walterfootball's mock draft and picked players around our pick. More focused on positional need and found players who were in that vicinity that fit the bill.

Speaking of first round picks did anyone see the incredibly horrific leg injury to RB Marcus Lattimore? Such a terrible shame what happened to him. Sad

He should talk to Eric Legrand, because he is someone else who had to deal with a major injury. I mean, watching your career being threatened in a flash after working your whole life towards it has to be tough to deal with.

Not tied anymore. Make that five interceptions.
