This is ridiculous we dont have a chance if we win if we get the injury bug every year. Our medical staff needs to go so many mishandled injuries

I read a blip today where Shanny insisted Garcon does NOT have a torn tendon--It's "minor" inflamation and should heal on it's own with rest. He's had several shots for pain and I guess inflammation..

well whatever it is, it's kept him from being effective since the 1st half of the saints game. It's been a true disappointment. Sad

you sure it's not Robert Andrews?

Ahah! I found an article on it. The specialist's name is Anthony Anderson of Charlotte, NC.

http://p.washingtontimes.com/blog/redskins-watch/2012/oct/24/pierre-garcon-sees-specialist-about-right-foot-inj/

Quote:
Garcon traveled to Charlotte, N.C., with tight end Fred Davis, who had his left Achilles tendon operated on by the same specialist, Dr. Anthony B. Anderson.

"He was going to look at the MRI again. He's looked at a few things on him already, but he'll get a chance to talk to him in person," Shanahan said.
The decision to send Garcon to see Anderson was not prompted by a setback as much as the foot injury, described as inflammation of the capsule below his second toe, not getting any better.

"He was sore when I talked to him [Tuesday]. I brought him up and said, 'How are you feeling?' He said it hadn't improved at all," Shanahan said. "He went swimming, they put him in a pool, and it didn't even improve in that area. Just for peace of mind I said 'Hey, why don't you go talk to a specialist?' ... You get a chance to go one-on-one and see what he says and hopefully something positive comes out of it."

haha! Laughing who the hell knows? Lets just hope he works some magic on Garçons foot and puts Fred's Achillies back together better than new! Very Happy Cool

I think the Washington times got the name wrong:

http://m.healthgrades.com/physician/dr-anthony-joseph-ykbqk/appointment

DR. Anthony B.Anderson is of South Carolina. He's a Nephrologist. Which is a kidney specialist.

Dr. Robert Anderson is an orthopedic specialist out of Charlotte, NC.

So now, what 7-8 weeks after he hurts it-yet another diagnosis from a specialist.. Why 8 weeks later ? What 's up with the medical staff and coaches.. If he'd just rested it a month- he'd be back now maybe! It's something that probably won't improve if you keep using it. Very frustrating !! Evil or Very Mad

its typical practice. Everyone tries rest with an injury that isn't thought to be serious first. Remember they did so with Hankerson from Nov till Feb. when it wasn't right, he had surgery.

The same thing is happening here. I agree with you that it's extremely frustrating, but it was handled right IMO. It sucks! This team has such bad luck with high priced free agents

This is one of the injuries that Jason Taylor had whence was here.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000085488/article/redskins-pierre-garcon-might-need-foot-surgery

Garçon might need foot surgery if his foot doesn't heal with rest. They don't want to do the surgery immediately because if they do, that'd mean his 2012 season would be over with.

Garcon will take the next two weeks off vs the Steelers and Panthers. then we have a bye in Week 10. That's the immediate target date for his return. If he still isn't ok by then, then they don't think they will be back at all this season and I think then, he'd have surgery to fix the torn tendon.

Here's hoping it doesn't come to that. By all the dropped passes today the Skins need all the abled bodied WRs they can get.
