After the loss to Green Bay, let's look forward to something to cheer us up. It's never too early for a mock draft! Let me know what you think.
1 Kenean Allen WR California
I'm almost positive he won't be available at the Rams pick, but who's to say he won't be available at the Redskins' pick . A big thanks to the Redskins for filling out the WR group. (For the record, Justin Hunter most likely will be off the board before Allen, so this is more realistic than not).
1 Taylor Lewan OT Michigan
Rated behind Luke Jockel and possibly Jake Matthews, he's actually a better fit for the massive hole at RT with his size and power. Think about this, he buys time for Denard Robinson to decide what to do with the football. He can give Bradford time.
2 Larry Warford OG Kentucky
Warford's selection fills out our OL. Saffold-Warford-Wells-Dahl-Lewan = A happy, healthy Bradford.
3 Bacarri Rambo FS Georgia
Classic "buy low" prospect here. In reality, his tape doesn't reveal many holes, but character concerns will push him down the board in a very deep safety draft. With the work Fisher has done with Janoris Jenkins, this pick almost makes too much sense. Unless you like Craig Dahl.
4 Jelani Jenkins OLB Florida
My man crush of this draft - speed to burn (track star), very intelligent (SEC Academic Honor Roll), adept in the passing game, holds his own against the run and has scary potential as a pass rusher. Can get washed out of plays but is aggressive enough that it doesn't happen often. In short, he's good.
5 Quanterus Smith DE Western Kentucky
A pass rushing specialist that adds more explosiveness to a nasty DE rotation. He received some attention when he made some Alabama linemen look like blocking dummies.
6 Christine Michael RB Texas A&M
This guy was the 3rd best RB recruit in the nation back in 2009 and was Big XII Freshman of the Year, but after 2 different leg injuries, he's now working his way back to form. Competition for Pead/Richardson and gives the team options in the event Steven Jackson leaves.
7 Anthony McCloud DT Florida State
Overlooked on a great defensive line, he should get more credit. Excellent run stuffer and drives linemen backwards in a hurry to collapse pockets.
