Chargers placed K Nate Kaeding on injured reserve with a groin injury, ending his season.
Per the Union-Tribune San Diego, the Bolts are required to release Kaeding with an injury settlement once he's healthy, so he should be kicking elsewhere before the season is through. Nick Novak is now locked into kicking duties in San Diego. In the final season of a seven-year contract, Kaeding was once one of the league's top kickers, but has proven far too injury prone for a specialist.

Looks like this is the end. Not sure Novak is really the answer either.

Will always be remembered for his critical misses against the Jets in the playoffs. Had some good moments with us, but as a kicker you need to make those clutch ones, and Kaeding didn't.

Knowing the curse of San Diego, Kaeding will go on to nail every postseason field goal on his way to a Superbowl. Are the Chargers going to have any draft picks after the league punishes them? :p

Was joking earlier that the punishment would be making us franchise Cason and keeping Clary and Norv for another year.

And it's official.....

Chargers will waive K Nate Kaeding.
The Chargers placed Kaeding on injured reserve due to a groin injury, but he's since passed a physical. They are waiving him so he can latch on with another team. Kaeding, a two-time Pro Bowler, shouldn't struggle for work.
