VS
Location:
Time of game: Sunday, October 21, 8:20 PM ET. NBC
Last Meeting: December 4th 2011 at home. 35-7 Victory.
With every AFCN team having major issues right now, surprisingly on defense for the most part, the Steelers can get themselves right back into the mix of things with a win here.

So we have two desperate teams which both had such high hopes to start the season.
I don't know that there is much of a home field advantage with Pittsburgh being so close by.
There will have been an extended period for rest, and hopefully for implementing some new, bolder ideas.
My hope is that Harrison will be more up to speed, Woodley will be fully recovered, and that the what's his name safety doesn't screw something up.
If they can only play defense in the 4th quarter for once! |

| Is Mendenhall a go? We should try to force the running game to help out the defense, b/c we clearly can't win shootouts. Let Ben go into the no-huddle if we ever need a quick score right before/after a quarter/half. |

Even with our woes, I still see us winning this one. Sure, bengals' defense are talented but also undisciplined. Dalton is a limited qb. He's making plays because aj green makes him look good. Is it too soon to make a bold prediction?
I see cortez allen eventually replacing ike taylor as ike will struggle against aj green and then we keep him as a starter! [/i] |

I think Dwyer is more than capable of shouldering the load for this game. But I still think the game comes down to the Steelers play sound mistake free defense. Hopefully LeBeau gets the pass rush started early and often as A. Dalton has thrown quite a few picks this season. _________________

I think the game comes down to not having an injury every other play. _________________

Obviously, we will seeDwyer start if Mendenhall and Redman are out. We will see a heavy dose of Batch and Rainey though, especially on passing downs.
How bout other players...
How bout the OL, are pouncey and Gilbert going to play?
How bout Woodley? _________________

It's going to be interesting to watch how our dline (strength of bengals) does vs your oline (weakness right now for steelers). Hopefully that matchup will minimize the slaughter of our secondary. Hint for success, throw towards Terrance Newman every play
That being said I see Steelers winning this. I've never seen the Bengals play a good prime time game _________________

Not trying to hate, but I honestly havent been all that impressed iwth the Bengals DLine. Good, talented players, but I havent seen much consistency.
As for our OLine...In the running game its a weakness.
We have actually done well keeping Ben upright.
Our Oline is still a weakness....always is....but I dont think it will be as much of a mismatch as you might think.
The biggest mismatch is going to be AJ Green vs Ike. AJ Green dominated Ike last year, and with no Woodley and LeBeau likely to be playing soft again, AJ could go for 200+ yards on Ike when you factor in catches and the likely penalties.
If it were me, Id probably try Cortez Allen on Ike...especially if Ike starts looking overwhelmed early, which is all but certain. _________________

I believe Woodley is playing:

Carter is out with a hammy. Pouncey is questionable, game time decision.
With both Harrison and Woodley in the game, a bit different flavor this week.
Ben twisted an ankle, but it is not a high ankle sprain. |
