Just heard it on twitter. I apologize if this didn't merit a separate thread.

I trust Ngata's word ! I'm sure none of us really thought Ray would call it quits ! |

Was just thinking on this and I wonder exactly what Lewis' words were. Because I've heard it said that Lewis simply said "he'll be back." Which a media head probably took as "he'll be back in 2013"... I still think there's a decent chance that this could be Ray Lewis' final season, unless he simply can't comeback for the playoffs at all- which I don't think will be the case. I think he plays through the pain for one last playoff hurrah which only strengthens his legacy... And whatever happens, happens. _________________

Going off the conversation Haloti had with Melissa Stark on First on the Field, it sounded like he was talking about Ray intending to be back this season.
If the Ravens make the playoffs in good shape, then I think it would take a team of shire horses to keep him off the field. Although in this scenario, it would probably mean McClain and Ellerbe played well in the second half of the season, so does Ray come back in to start, or would he have a more limited role? _________________

I start him and see how he plays. Ray is a legend... who cares if we mess with the fragile ego of an UDFA player who probably will be moving on after this season anyway (Ellerbe) OR an UDFA that we have under contract that isn't anything speical (McClain). _________________
