I swear, if we don't fire Andy I will lose it. If he is still our coach next season, I guarantee we will have millions of threads saying, "GIVE THE BALL TO SHADY AND BRYCE" because he will eventually get back to his habit of throwing way too much, not to mention the bad clock management and bad challenging. And another thing, if Andy stays, that means MM would still likely be our OC... _________________

I agree, but some people on here are starting to get the idea in my head that we might keep Andy based on the recent moves he has made. I think that's more about Andy being a good dude and giving Babin a chance to start since he was on the verge of getting benched. Giving Wash a chance to start to look for a new job and giving Vick a chance to get healthy. Andy doesn't care if he is here next year, he still will look for the best ways to improve this team for next year, I think he has the up most respect for Lurie and the rest of the organization. _________________

You can interpret it that way.
But I feel if Lurie had made his decision, and conveyed that to Reid, he would begin by restricting Andy's executive decision making.
Why, do you ask?
Imagine you're a boss. You're fed up with one of your managers. You've lost your trust in him to properly operate your business.
You've made up your decision to fire him at the end of the year.
Why, then, would you continue to allow this same person to make decisions for the future?
By allowing your manager to continue to manage the team without your discretion and on his own intuition alone (which is what Reid is doing), it implies you still believe he can make the right moves for the future.
And if you believe that, and allow him to do that... then why would you fire him?
Let's say again that you're the boss. You run a Krispy Kreme factory.
You've given your top manager control over the business.
For 14 years he's been getting you good profits, but he was never able to make it to the revered #1 spot in the "American Pastries Yearly" publication, which is your ultimate goal.
You've decided to fire him because of some things he's screwed up internally. He's firing people left and right and letting people go. He's moving around assets.
If you're the boss, aren't there certain goals and visions that you have? What if you wanted to keep some of the staff? By allowing your manager, whom you've supposedly lost trust of, to continue to make his own moves, you jeopardize the future and your own goals.
This is why Reid might stay.
He's still making unilateral decisions.
Giving Babin a chance? No way! Washburn never wanted to see Babin go. Which is why Washburn blew up when he heard the news.
Washburn would have had a chance to coach elsewhere had he just been let go after the season. This isn't Andy being nice, this is Andy saying "GET THE HELL OUT."
I wonder if Washburn will ever get a job considering some of the reports that are surfacing.
And it doesn't matter if Reid has the utmost respect for Lurie and the organization.
If Lurie decided he's going to fire Andy, that means he no longer feels Andy is the right guy for the job.
So why continue to let the wrong guy for the job make potentially wrong decisions for the future?
Only if you don't believe he's completely the wrong guy for the job. _________________

| Washburn is a real piece of garbage. He gave steroids to his college players years ago and now "Juanita." |

| Quote: | In October 1988, Sports Illustrated published an article, told from player Tommy Chaiken's point of view, that alleged the widespread use of steroids in the South Carolina University football program. Following the exposé, Washburn and three other assistant coaches were indicted by a federal grand jury.
The original indictment alleged that the coaches had distributed anabolic steroids to players for a three-year period from 1984 to 1987. While one coach was acquitted, Washburn and the other two pleaded guilty as part of a plea bargain. He was sentenced to three months in a halfway house and given a three-year probationary term. |
