Is he going to another one of those FF darlings? Laughing

He's a solid player with an NFL future. In the CFB "other games" thread I compared him to Georgia's Arthur Lynch. Might have a little more athletic ability but just a tough, well-rounded player. He's showing up big as a freshman, too, which speaks volumes about his work-ethic and mental toughness.

He's not going to be a first rounder, though. His ceiling is the 2nd but he's more of a 3rd/4th round guy.

Out of Big Ten Freshman TEs: Maxx Williams > Jake Butt.

Out of Freshman TEs who've played significantly:

OJ Howard
Maxx Williams
Hunter Henry
Johnny Mundt
Evan Engram

There are a number of talented Freshman TEs who haven't played much or at all yet to put Butt so high already:

Jordan Leggett
Durham Smythe
Eric Cotton
Josiah Price

I don't see why we can say he can't be a first rounder. Big and fast, makes tough catches and high effort. Michigan has two very very good young TEs right now. Funchess will break out of this funk. Butt should keep developing.
